Great for connecting to DTE kit
It just works, talking to equipment configured as DTE (boxes whose DB9 connector has pins (but not holes) inside the connector—see snap). Nicely built, includes retaining screws, and looks the part. No problems under Linux. Too soon to say for durability. A serial number has been set (probably unique, but can't be certain with only one to hand.) If your kit is DCE (holes inside the DB9 connector) it's unlikely to work without an adaptor, which you will have to sort out. As always, YMMV. (This is serial communications, after all.)

Works well!
It works! I flashed an updated firmware to a Satellite Combo Receiver from my PC without any issues. I already have an RS232 serial cable and this RS232 to USB works just as well. Now with serial ports more or less obsolete in PC’s this cable is a necessary replacement to the older serial cable.

Bought to communicate with a data collector but it didn't work due to fault with data collector. But I will use it for something else.

Easy Instal & Working Swell With Adam Scales
Works perfectly with my Adam Weighing Scales. The drivers installed automatically for me (Windows 10 Pro). I previously tried a lower cost serial to USB with a different chipset with no success. This model based on the FTDI chipset seems to be the way to go.

Fab for programming my Optoma UHD40 projector
Needed to update the firmware on my Optoma UHD40 and this worked a treat for the update :) Felt like a good quality robust cable and it worked so even better.

Not suitable for Cisco SG300 Direct connection
This did not work with my SG300 , I presume that this interface is designed for cross over cable . The SG300 , like many Cisco ( not all ) requires a straight through cable connection . So not suitable in my situation . It should be clearer what this could be used for
