Baking time affected by the shape or glass thickness?
Meh. I have had this one for years. I gave my old one away because I wanted a lid and this one came with a carrying case & hot/cold insert for the case. I’m loyal to the brand, but I have hated this one since day one! Now, I get it. Everyone loves the “bells & whistles” with this one but I hate the lid! I know the lid doesn’t fit on tightly but the “helpful” family members at a gathering do not know this! Even after warning them (sigh.). I’ve had a number of dishes partially slide out, or leak out if someone tilts it because of the lid. Forget balancing it in an ice chest. Someone always places it back precariously balanced on something else & the lid usually ends up askew. I usually have to use packing tape to secure the lid if I’m taking it to a gathering. It’s safer that way. The carrying case is ok but I wish it was a bit sturdier. I like the insert pocket for the cold/hot pack but it slides out now since the Velcro has worn out. I also wish the case had an outside zippered pocket to store utensils for serving. My biggest issue is that my cooking time is affected when I use this dish! I didn’t realize this until I bought another Pyrex dish and baked the same recipe in both of them. I’m not sure if it’s the wider handles or the slightly slanted sides on this dish or maybe the glass is thicker (it is heavier than my new one) but it took 20 minutes longer to cook my recipe in this Pyrex dish. Weird. Time to retire this one.
