Burst Elite SATA 3 480GB SSD 2.5 Inch Solid State Drive

I purchased the Patriot Burst Elite 120GB SSD to use as a dedicated drive connected to my ASUS router running ASUSwrt-Merlin, primarily to store and run various scripts. I've been thoroughly impressed with its performance in this role! The speed of this SSD has made a significant difference in the execution time of my scripts. Tasks that previously took noticeably longer on a USB drive now complete much faster and more efficiently. This has really streamlined my home automation and network management processes. Setting it up through the ASUSwrt-Merlin interface was a breeze, and the router has had no issues recognizing or working with the drive. The reliability has also been outstanding – it's been running consistently without any hiccups. The 120GB capacity provides ample space for all my scripts, logs, and associated files. I used this as an OEM stock hard disk drive replacement on an original Xbox. It worked perfectly right out of the package. No firmware updates needed or anything! And so far so good. It works. It stores data. It reads data. It hasn’t broke, and it’s been three months so far. That means it’s probably a good product! At this price point, I would highly recommend this!

These days, if you have a slot for an NVMe, get that. If all you have is SATA, get this. Fast transfer, no moving parts and if you are replacing an old spinning hard drive, this will make your machine feel like a much newer version of that same machine. The difference between a spinning hard drive and the SSD is really big. Drives like this are cheap now. If you can remove your old drive, this one just slots in the exact same way. Super easy to install. Once installed, you treat it like any other drive, spinning or now. Works with all Windows and Linux type computers that have a SATA port.

I put this little ssd into an older Acer Aspire One 722, it’s very old. Between this and a ram upgrade that little machine now runs Linux smooth as butter. Boots fast. Easy install. No compatibility issues. Been extremely stable. It has renewed the life of a very portable unit. Definitely recommend, especially for older systems that could use a boost.

Good budget SSD. Added to my older Dell laptop for a Linux experimantal build. Works great. Transfer speeds are pretty fast. Especially nice for the money.
