Love this little fountain!
I had this fountain in shopping cart for about a month before I actually bought it. I wasn't sure it was what I wanted for my deck, to sit amongst the pots and planters for a serene feeling. It is perfect! It is not too big or attention-grabbing. We put small stones in the bowls to accentuate the "trickling" noise, and in the top pitcher to keep it from moving. While sturdy, the bowls and pitcher are quite light and our fear was that a strong wind could dislodge it from its seat.I have had one problem, more associated with set-up than workmanship, I'm sure. The hose slipped off the pump and the water was spewing from the pump outlet instead of going up to the pitcher. Easily fixed by re-installing the hose to the pump. The solar panel is extremely sensitive also. Any cloud cover at all, even wispy floating clouds with stop the pump but that's okay. The power cord from the panel to the pump is very long so the panel can be placed in the sun and the fountain can be placed quite a ways away.I love this fountain. It adds a relaxing touch to our deck.

pretty neat little fountain
I wasn't surprised by the size of this product because other reviewers talked about the size. It is very easy to put together. It works well. It does need the sun to make it work, but, for the price, I didn't expect a battery pack to come with it. I'm pretty happy with it.

Great, but...
I love the fountain but it came missing one of the medium sized bowls

Much better than the solar fountain I tried last year
This is a small fountain but I knew it would be, it was listed quite clearly in the product description; just be aware of that, since a lot of pictures of these things (as of the time I write this) seem to be going out of their way to give you no size reference--read the description! Also, it really does need direct sunlight to work, it doesn't store a charge at all, so if a cloud passes over the sun or the sun gets low enough to not be directly shining on the solar panel, the fountain stops almost immediately and won't work again until it has direct sunlight...I knew that too and it's still worth not having a power cord or batteries to me but it is something everyone who buys this should know and expect.I think the clay pots and their set up is very cute, but in my experience these solar pumps seem to be pretty iffy: I tried a simpler floating solar pump for a "whiskey-barrel pond" last year and that thing lasted less than two weeks or so. The person I had given that and this fountain to (who wanted "the sound of running water in his garden") set this fountain up quickly and quickly had it running--which was awesome! At this point it's been going for over a month, so at the very least, I can say it's outlasted the other one. After I gave him this fountain, he decided to clean out the whiskey-barrel and try setting it up as a pond again. He went to the local hardware store and bought another solar powered pump--not a floating one--and set it up and it turned out to be even more sensitive to the direct sunlight issue: no matter how sunny it was it literally had to be angled towards the east in the morning, flat around midday, and west in the evening, or nothing. And the second day after he had set it up, it died completely. He took it back immediately and got another one and it's been going about three weeks and that solar panel doesn't seem any more picky than the one for this fountain--which is to say, it needs direct sunlight, but doesn't require you to adjust the solar panel every two minutes to match the angle of the sun.I guess my point is that while so far I'm pleased with this fountain, I've read reviews for this one and the ones that seem to be the same thing but with different finishes and based on the reviews and my experience with other inexpensive solar pumps, I'd make sure that if you buy one you set it up as quickly as possible so you can make sure that it works and that it will continue to work, since they're great when they work, but seem to have a pretty high chance of not working or of dying *quickly.*I know it may seem like an obvious thing, since even the best products will have some that fail for various reasons, but sometimes you buy something as a present well before the gift-giving occasion, or get it and then don't feel like messing with it for a while and you let it sit in the box--don't let your chance to return a defective item expire with these things. If it has, you could try to get another pump from a local hardware store, but it's the same thing, try it as soon as possible, and keep an eye on it so you know if it stops working right away.

Very nice
It is a bit small so it really needs to sit on a table near where you're sitting. But it makes a really nice burbling. The birds and bees seem to have discovered it too. It's nice to help out the bees especially.UPDATE! It is now about 2 years after purchase. Just found out today (12 April 2014) that the largest bowl has a crack in it rendering it useless to contain water. It was carefully stored during the winter in our basement. This is extremely disappointing.I will attempt to contact manufacturer for replacement bowl or find a substitute given that the price increased substantially since purchase.Good luck to all. By the way...we do really like the trickling sound it makes...when it works.

What a disappointment.
I purchased this fountain in December, when it was on sale. Just yesterday I removed it from the box for the first time and set it up in my flower garden. To my shock, the bottom bowl was leaking and has 2 huge cracks in it. The fountain works perfectly, I had it running before I knew it was leaking and absolutely love it. Since my return period has ended, I would only get half the credit back if I returned it and it would be at my expense for the shipping. I guess I will try to fix the cracks and hope for the best. Like I stated before, the fountain is really nice plus fits perfectly in the small space I have but the cracked bowl is terribly disappointing. I rated it only 1 star but I don't hate the product, I hate the defects.UPDATE: Happy to report that I put 4 coats of sealant inside the bottom bowl and it is no longer leaking! I am glad I was able to fix it because it really is a lovely little addition to my flower garden. I am going to spray paint it with terra cotta colored paint, as soon as I receive that from Amazon!

Works as advertised.
Nice addition to the garden. A particular robin think it is his own bath and jumps in the bottom and splashes around. Good unit and works as advertised.

Great Addition!
The media could not be loaded. Absolutely love this fountain. Replaced the solar pump after about a year and a half of being in the AZ sun but it’s the perfect addition to the garden. Fixed a few cracks from critters and birds knocking the small bowls over but added adhesive tape to keep them in place and worked like a charm.
