Why didn't someone think of this before. In order for a "solar" light to work it needs sunlight... but that isn't necessarily where you need the light to be. This nifty little product solves that, and is reasonably priced. The light automatically comes on (at low setting) when it gets dark, and then switches to full brightness when motion activated. It gives plenty of light to get around at night and covers a large area, but not something that you could work by. Only annoyance is that moths (and things) can set it off, so if you are using it for security there might be many false alarms.

This worked fine--until it rained. I had it set up like it shows in the picture, but it quit working almost immediately once it started raining, and when I took it down, I actually shook water out of the led unit. I've dried out the inside of the led unit, but it still won't work at all.UPDATE: The company contacted me, and sent me a replacement solar light--kudos for the customer service! So far, this one has been working fine (but it hasn't rained yet). I really like the brightness, and how compact it is. I guess I'll just bring it inside if it's going to rain.

The problem with the 1 piece version they won't work in places like under a deck or in a shed because the panel won't get any sunlight. Problem solved with this unit. I wanted one out in my wood shed and under my deck so don't have to carry a flashlight. Works like a dream! Lights up a 16X8 foot wood shed (easily enough light for twice the area). I think this would also be ideal for a lawn tractor shed. Just need to drill a small hole to fish the wire through and presto. Instant lighting.

Light does not have three lighting modes (looking at the other reviews, i may have just gotten a bad one...)It does not have a motion sensor, it is on at dark and usually after about 7 hour (3 am (dark at 7 pm)) it is barely on, although it works strong for the first 4 or 5 hours.Perfect for lighting up the yard in the evening. I thought the dimmer light in combination with the motion sensor light would be perfect to make it last all night - sadly it does not.I would say, if the light worked as advertised, it would be a great light. Good luck on your purchase.

Impressed at first then by week two light no longer went bright when tripped. I contacted the company and they were wonderful and very polite. They had the replacement out to me immediately without any problems at all. I have received the replacement and am again ALL SMILES. THIS really is a Great Light so don't hesitate. It lights my whole corner of the gate where the trash cans are and I appreciated the coverage.

A nice bright light with a big design flaw. The light only works when it is dark outside. If you install the light inside (like a dark closet) and solar panel outside then light only comes on when it is dark outside thus rendering the detachable feature obsolete. If the light sensor was attached with light emitting panel then this would be top in its class.

OK the box came and I laughed, how could such a small box contain the light I was looking for? Well it does and it did, was I amazed. Upon opening the box I was impressed with the design and the one screw install.The screw provided is rather long though and required a pilot hole be drilled first. Other than that I am so impressed with the performance of this product, great design, easy install, bright light. Thank you.

angle of the solar panel makes it difficult to catch the sun in our area. seems to work well if I can get a full charge, but its hard to do. Got it to put in my hen house in the winter as it said it didnt require a ton of sun to charge. But it does. light is quite bright when it does charge fully

use this at the front of our house to light the front door so we can see where to put the door key. Initially tried one without the extension lead but didn't get enough light. This one has been working well for a while now. Very happy with this device. very simple to use and install

Die Leuchte ist vom Einbau und der Funktion sehr gut. Ein Stern Abzug gibt es für die optisch etwas instabilen Steckverbinder und den Ausschalter. Beim Ausschalter handelt es sich um ein Loch. Mit dem mitgelieferten Draht wird in dem Loch der Schalter betätigt.

Leuchtet einen kleinen Fahrradschuppen gut aus. Bei beinahe täglicher kurzzeitiger Nutzung morgens und abends hält der Akku mit Ladung genau ein Jahr. Danach ist die Solaranlage in voller Sonne nicht mehr ausreichend um den Akku ausreichend zu laden. Manuell ist der Akku leider nicht ladbar!

Minuscule,construction légère,un seul bouton caché à actionner avec une petite tige,ça fonctionne! Pour combien de temps...Pour le prix, le rapport qualité service est positif à condition que ça fonctionne encore dans quelques mois.
