This CD brings back some memories, both pleasant and otherwise
When I was in the 2nd grade my parents bought us an LP recording of theme songs from cartoon and TV shows for children. My other brother said, "What good is the music without the cartoon?" but I loved it. I used to play it over and over, especially if I was feeling sad. Somehow they let me relive the simple pleasure that I received when watching the shows. These were themes from the 50's and early 60's. Since then I have always been on the look out for CD's such as this one.I choose them more on their selection of themes rather that the quality. Let's face it, a lot of shows that we watched back then did not have great audio quality. Sure, it would be nice to hear something made from a master recording but that't not the way I remember them. When I listen to older TV theme songs they remind me of where I was at in my life at the time that I watched them, and as with all of us, there were good times and bad. I only watched about a third of the shows on this recording but that is enough for me. It has some more recent themes that I don't have on my other CD's, such as the haunting melody from Six Feet Under and Kelsey Grammer's rendition of Tossed Salad and Scrambled Eggs. It also contains some of my very favorites: Hill Street Blues; Northern Exposure; St. Elsewhere; and who can forget that old favorite, the theme from the Perry Mason show? I am sure that if someone watched television in the last two or three decades they will find at least a few that bring mack memories for them as well.I would have liked the set better if it contained a sheet with the lyrics or at least some trivial facts about the songs (did you know that the original songs that the themes for the Andy Griffith Show, Leave it to Beaver and Star Trek are based on all had words?). Still, I am happy to have added this CD to my collection.

Outstanding TV show theme music CD set !!!
I bought this around a couple years ago and then purchased a 2nd /copy again earlier this year. I was happy it got delivered to me on time.In my opinion, this 2 CD set IS the BEST TV theme music collection ever and I have already listened to some other competitor TV show theme CDs! Right Back to this CD, love listening to it every single time. It's such a treat for the ears and brings back fond memories of TV shows of long past. My only minor complaint about it is that some of the older TV show themes have scratchy-old LP record quality sound /audio to them. The TV Guide 50 All time Fav. Tv themes CD had the better sounding newer versions of a few of the more classic TV show themes (also included on this 2 CD set ); but, this CD I'm reviewing gives you a much larger collection of TV show melodies that you can't go wrong with although not all TV themes are here that you 'll get with a few other good TV theme collection discs (although those others are not even as good as All Time Top 100TV Themes right here is)! The only other little minor gripe ( a physical CD case complaint )is how one of the CD discs easily falls out of the jewel case (that was the old one I bought )and I actually had to scotch tape the CD on to the inside plastic CD holder. Even those minor complaints I have cannot take this rating down . I give this a solid 5 STARS plus! In all, this item was well worth the price I paid. I'd highly recommend this 2 CD set to any TV show fan and aren't we all one of them?

"Return with us now, to those thrilling days of Yesteryear!"
What prompted me to buy this sound-key to nostalgia for countless hours of memorable episodes of favorite TV programs, long past, but never forgotten, was something I heard during an episode of the very popular TV series "NUMBERS"(the one with the letter "E" in the title reversed to resemble the NUMBER "3"), which stars Judd Hirsch as the father of the brothers who are the principal protagonists in the series. What I heard was the instantly recognizable theme of the extremely popular, award-winning TV series "TAXI", which starred none other than this same Judd Hirsch, who played a kind of big-brother type who was the voice of reason and wisdom in a story-line that included kooky characters and bizarre happenings.(Come to think of it, that's pretty much what goes on in "NUMBERS" in most episodes). I have to presume that the playing of the theme in the background of the family home was no accident, and that it was included as a salute to Judd's part in the success of that memorable show, He was largely responsible for that show's success, and I think he is doing it again with "NUMBERS". Now, while the "TAXI" theme is what moved me to order the 2-disc set, I have the themes of many more favorite shows reverberating in my memory, and I wanted to hear them again, for real. As soon as the set arrived, I played through the whole set, and although I had not watched many of the shows represented, I recognized a number of the themes. Some of my favorites, in addition to "TAXI", were "Hill Street Blues", "Everybody Loves Raymond", "Magnum, P.I.", WKRP in Cincinnati (I lived in Piqua, Ohio, 90 miles north of Cincinnati, and listened to the real station, WKRC, as well as the powerful (500,00 watts) WLW!), "Three's Company", "One Day at a Time", "The Rockford Files", "M.A.S.H.", "Happy Days", "Hawaii Five-O".\, and "Perry Mason". Great memories, great music! JK

Reliving my childhood!
This is a good album and I recognised so many show tunes! The 6 million dollar man theme is the original from the beginning of the TV show unlike other show albums CD's! Second CD is more recognisable to UK market! All in all? Not a bad album!
