I did not receive directions; How long in microwave?

It depends on your microwave. Start with 1 minute, then 30 seconds more if needed. It doesn't have to be all liquid and if it is, it may burn you

Is this wax too much sticky and leave a hair sized tail upon application ??

It is very sticky, but dries in seconds. You have to roll it off verses pulling it off. It was vary painfull for me & I have been waxing my upper lip for almost 20 years. It's only meant for upper lips. Quite honestly, I would NOT buy it.

Can I put this on a q-tip and yank out nostril and ear hair?

I cant give you an answer . Never used it that way . But as a wax . I find it superior to any I have tried for normal bothersome hairs .
