Random House Books for Young Readers Christopher Columbus: Explorer and Colonist

I bought a bunch of these step into reading biographies for my 8 year old to practice reading and learn a little about historic figures. I accidentally ordered two on Columbus. This "revised" edition copyright 2020, and the 1991 edition it's based on.I went through them page by page. All pages had changes, most were benign and makes one wonder why they bothered, but in the few places where actual changes in content were made it has all been done to make Columbus as terrible as possible and to impute motives to him that would better fit their woke narrative. As someone who has actually read a couple of credible adult level biographies of him, these changes are nonsense and clearly made to comply with our culture's new insane values.If you are buying this for your kid, buy the 1991 edition (cover is different but same series) while you still can.
