As noted by others, the screws are not up to the job, so the solution is to purchase your own screws.

My cast iron mail box has a latch that broke and the door wouldn’t stay closed. I thought that I would have to replace the whole mail box. I received a $1000 quote from a handyman to do the job. My son told me to just replace the latch even though the handyman said it couldn’t be done. My son found the matching latch on Amazon and it works perfectly. The cost? Less than $3.

I purchased this to keep a sliding trash can drawer closed. The drawer always slid back open a half inch if you don't close it just right, which was annoying, and one of our cats figured out how to fish the drawer open to get into the trash at night. First impression prior to installation was that it's a solid product and built to last. It's made of hard metal and doesn't have any annoying squeaks. I'm just a noob homeowner though, so it could actually be trash compared to other similar products, but to me anyway it looks and feels nice. After installing this product, I was concerned that it wouldn't do what I needed it to do because of how little strength it latches with as you can barely feel it latch and unlatch when opening and closing the drawer. I suppose this is actually a good thing though if it has just enough strength to meet the need; I'm just used to these old 70s latches still around the house that require quite a lot of force. However, for this particular use case, it has always kept the drawer closed and our little trash panda hasn't gotten into the trash even once after installing this a few months ago. Based on that, I'm going to say mission accomplished with 5 stars.

Durable little thing. Easy to put on. Works perfectly to keep cabinet door shut. Definitely worth the money!

Does the job of keeping my cabinet door closed (much better than the velcro tabs I was using until repaired lol) BUT the screws that come with this are JUNK! the head broke up just a few turns in on the screwdriver. I am not using a power tool/power drill just a good ol fashion philips head. My advice is use better/pointier screws. The clasp it self seems decent. Wont expect it to last more than a year as this door is used frequently, just feels like its going to get loose and not keep door closed. I mean for 2 bucks tho it will suffice! Good item if you need a quick fix
