I bought this to hook up to my Mac and it does indeed achieve the speeds that it advertises.Just plug it in and it's ready to go.It doesn't run hot unless you are pushing it very hard but it never gets excessive.It is a nice compact size which will take up next to no room in a bag or case and because it is USB powered there are no power cables to lug around.All in all it is a great speedy little 1TB drive which leaves the Samsung T5 way behind.

I bough this to use as the game drive on my Xbox One X and I am glad I did. Games not only load faster but during the games those annoying moments when you are faced with a loading screen (for me it's Far Cry 5) the times are massively reduced.It gets really hot which isn't a concern for me.

Speeds stated not as fast unless thunderbolt port used. Very warm/hot when used continuously, concerned about long term reliability . Not very different from my two Samsung T3 500 g/byte drives except a lot warmer ! Jury is out on this one ! May return item.
