Its an OK "hose hook"
I work in the automotive industry and I use these cotter pin tools to take off old stuck hoses. With a little bit of lube at the hook, you slip inside and work around the end of the hose. It would work great, but on the Proto tool, the steel slips from the plastic. It gets me more frustrated than the stubborn hose I am trying to take off. I bought it 7 months ago and finally I had enough. Looking for a new one currently.

Cotter pin puller, what we Professional Mechanics called a "Hose Hook".
Great product. We NEVER used these for pulling cotter pins, (they tend to fly off the tool). What we DID use these for was as a (Hose Hook). You can slip the tip under the edge of a hose you wanted to remove, work it around, and that hose comes loose EASILY !Virtually EVERY Mechanic I ever worked with used it this exact way. Even very old, stuck hoses could be removed easily. If you've never tried it, BUY ONE !This Proto tool is solid, well-made. For such an important task, skip the cheap tools !

Works, Good Value
The photos dont do justice because they don't compare it to anything. This is bigger than the standard screwdriver. This cotter pin puller is way more beefy looking in person.

It'll work.
JUST arrived. I immediately opened the package and the pick looks like it took a ride in a rock tumbler.. other than that, it feels strurdy enough to handle any amount of abuse short of being thrown in a bonfire.

Tough little tool.
Tough little tool to have. We had these in our tool boxes when I was in the USAF working on aircraft. This tool got used for a little bit of everything and took a beating.
