The rubber part of the original latch is supposed to be used
Strangely the rubber part of the original latch is supposed to be removed from the original latch and attached to the new latch, but the metal tongue, where the rubber piece should slip on, is very small and the rubber part doesn't really stay on.

Had Issues with Hardware
When I first purchased I tried to install onto my Jeep and had issues with the hardware. Bolts stripped out and had to cut off to get the latches off. Spoke to the seller and they replaced the hardware with new so was really happy with the customer service!

Goodbye Hood Flutter!
I knew I wanted to get more secure latches, but I'd only think about it when I was driving down the interstate watching the hood bouncing up and down precariously secured by thin rubber latches. Not the best time to do some online shopping. I finally remembered when I was at home, and after some research, chose these latches. The reviews looked good, the installation seemed easy (no drilling required), and while the price was higher than others I found, this was not an area I wanted to skimp. I can't imagine sitting on the side of the interstate with the hood in my lap thinking, "at least I saved $20." I was not disappointed. The installation was a snap. I set aside an hour and was done in about 20 minutes. All the holes lined right up. I did end up using the original screws after reading other reviews since they have the washers integrated on them. By popping off the grill, it was easy to wriggle the socket wrench in to place for the bottom bolt. One side was perfect, while the other required just one adjustment to get the fit just right. The only reason it took as long as it did is because I installed the part that goes on the hood upside down. Oops. The real test was the interstate. Zero hood flutter. The fit is secure. And besides, they look great - really beefy. The only con I have is that, after opening and closing them a couple of times, I noticed some of the powder coat scratching off on the inside where the two sides meet. It's nothing you'd notice when closed, so doesn't affect it cosmetically, but something to be aware of so you don't scratch the outside with tools.

Easy install, sturdy and secure, can't believe I waited so long to do this upgrade
I have a 2013 Rubicon, have lived in Florida and Nevada all 10 years of ownership, had to replace the rubber latches every 2 years in that sun. I've only delayed doing this because my bumper system makes taking the front grill off nearly impossible and I didn't want the install hassle. Two of mine blew out on the same day - had to replace. And the Dealership charges $88 per strap (176 for both)!! For more rubber straps..... So off to Amazon I go. I bought these because they are stainless steel, I couldn't get comfortable with aluminum and noticed that most of the top 4wheel vendors make steel rather than aluminum latches. Easy Install - see the pic, these are the tools I used and I did NOT remove my front grill. Took 30 minutes start to stop. I used a 10mm and 13mm socket, and a 4mm and 5mm ball head allen wrench. The trick was to use 1/4 inch socket with a small (tiny) wratchet to reach the bolt (see pic). Easy off. To install, you don't try and thread the nut to the bolt, you hold the nut over the hole with your fingers and then thread the bolt from the outside - that way you just hold the bolt in your fingers and all the turning is done from the outside using fingers or allen wrench. Adjustments Easy adjustment, loosening the top hood bolts and sliding latch up or down 1/2". I was worried about adjustable latches that they might droop over time, but in my case, the top latches required me to adjust as low as possible to fit, meaning they are already as low as can go and cannot move any lower to come loose. Note you do have to transfer the rubber bumper from the original to these, it just comes off by gently twisting sideways and then install in same spot on these. The nylon lock nuts assure work will not come loose from vibration. All in all, impressed with quality and sturdy. Only Concerns: Although the bolts look big, they are held in place by 1/4" stainless steel screws on each side (the silver bolt heads in the pictures). That is not a through-bolt but screws holding a bolt in place. That means the sheer strength of these latches is on those screws, not the bolts. Remember, all of this is steel, and the OEM are rubber and plastic, I believe will be better. Will update my review after some highway miles and offroad miles.
