I researched best techniques for washing cars to avoid inadvertently scratching the finish, and this product was highly recommended. I didn’t appreciate how easily bits of hard contaminants can get caught up in the cleaning cloths but merely wishing the cloth in a wash or rinse bucket. This product, submerged in rinse water and used like a washboard, allows hard gritty particles to fall through the grates instead of being caught up in the microfiber cleaning cloths. Simple and inexpensive, but very effective! This particular model is well made and the seller filled the order very quickly. Bravo.

I like the idea with a washboard instead of just having a bottom insert. Have used it and works well. Fit my Lowes bucket perfectly. The price is a little step though. I purchased 4 of them for family members for Christmas. Almost $100 for plastic molds. They work and are nice, but wish the price was a little more reasonable.

I love everything about these... they are strong... Then combine them with the FANTASTIC very well made Hudson Exchange 5 Gallon Buckets with their Bottom Grip Handle and HDPE. It makes it a snap to dump out 5 gallons of car wash material. Then I also added Grit Guards & Washboards which easily clear the bottom handle that intrudes into the bottom inside of these buckets (see photos). So the Grit Guards do hover a lil' bit further above the bottom than they do in other 5 gal. buckets. But I personally like how they are a lil' further above the bottom, perhaps more separation of dirt that would settle on the bottom!!! Plus, the Gamma2 Seal Lids fit like a glove (which the Gamma 2's take some good hand strength to install) but it's worth it to keep dust and insects out of the buckets between washes. So essentially I made "custom" color coordinated buckets for my own personal auto detailing... and we will be buying more of these for my wife and her beekeeping... along with the sold separately Snappy Grip handles that I also installed (again, see photos). It’s the lil’ things make a job more pleasurable. 🤓 Well I hope this might perhaps be helpful to others out there! 😇

Purchased this after buying my new (midnight blue) car and wanted to prevent swirl marks. After learning the benefit of a grit guard, I purchased this one which has the added benefit of the wash board to easily scrub the mitt. Perfectly fits my 5-gallon Home Depot bucket! Having the wash guard in addition to the grit guard meant no need to dump your entire arm in the bucket (to reach down a different kind of grit guard). Very secure and never went out of place while scrubbing/agitating both sides of my microfiber mitt. If you want to take care of your car and prevent swirl marks, get it. Totally worth it!

This Grit Guard fits perfectly in the Home Depot Homers 5 Gallon Orange Bucket that I purchased this year. I was able to place the Grit Guard Insert, with the Washboard, all the way to the bottom of the bucket without any difficulty and with ease. I have not had an opportunity to try out the product but it looks like it will do the job. This product did not fit in buckets that I purchased at Lowe's (Lowe's Blue Bucket) and Car Quest/Advanced Auto Parts. If you are looking to purchase a cheap reliable bucket and a bucket that will work perfectly with this product, purchase the Home Depot Homers Orange Bucket. I hope this review is of any help to anyone who does not want to waste money on a bucket that does not work. Thanks for reading my review.

Great add-on for all the car detailing enthusiasts if you are doing the 2 buckets method. Seem very sturdy. Absolutely no complaint !

This grit guard adds a new element to the wash. The diagnal guard acts like a wash board and helps get more dirt and contaminants my wash mitt and brushes. Well worth the money.
