I've been using Ticonderoga pencils since grade school, and they continue to be my go-to for writing and sketching. This 10-count pack of black wood-cased, pre-sharpened 2 HB pencils is perfect for anyone who values smooth writing and reliable performance. 🖊️ Pros: - Pre-sharpened tips save time and are ready to use right out of the box. - The graphite is soft enough for smooth writing but firm enough to avoid constant breakage. - The black finish gives them a sleek, professional look. - Erasers are high-quality and don’t leave smudges or tear the paper. - Wood casing feels sturdy and sharpens cleanly without splintering. 📦 Cons: - Slightly pricier than generic brands, but the quality more than makes up for it. 💬 Disclaimer: I am not being paid or incentivized to write this review. Just sharing my honest experience as a longtime fan of Ticonderoga pencils. Whether you're jotting notes, sketching ideas, or filling out forms, these pencils deliver consistent results. Ticonderoga continues to set the gold standard for pencils. Highly recommend!

Excellent pencils. Worth the price! The only ones that actually stand up to a 10 year old boy who’s rough on things and loves to draw!

I got these because I wanted to test them against some of the more expensive pencils I have. I am pleasantly surprised by these. Not only do they write pretty smooth, but they are closer to the darkness of a Japanese HB, which is nice. The lines are darker (and less metallic) than Staedtler Norica pencils and so much less scratchy then them as well. I still cannot get over how smooth they are, considering how cheap they are. I remember Ticonderoga's from when I was in school being scratchy and always having a random piece of grit in the lead which scratched paper, but these so far haven't done that. The eraser sucks, but it does mostly erase the marks. The pencil diameter is ever so slightly thinner than other pencils. The foam grips I use which usually have some resistance, slide easily onto these pencils, but once in place, while writing the grip stays in place. Out of the 12 pencils in the box about 8 had passably centered leads. 3 were noticeably off center but still sharpenable. One was too far off center to be sharpened in a sharpener, but was sharpenable with a knife. The pencils are hard on my little manual sharpeners. I am not sure what wood is used in these but the wood has a slight reddish tint to them and don't smell like anything when sharpened. The wood seems harder than cedar. All in all they are pretty decent pencils, especially for their price!

Having seen some poor reviews I was prepared to be disappointed with the black pencils but they are not too bad. I have used the yellow ones for drawing and find them quite good and feel quite nice and the yellow are made from cedar. The black ones, however, are not made from cedar and the finish is not quite as good but for drawing they are still OK. I would not swap a yellow (made in Mexico from cedar) for a black (made in China from ?) But hey use what you have and close your eyes!
