I just hooked up my new speakers yesterday....the sound gets a bit 'muddy'. Ive played with the base and treble, but am not getting a change. Why?

These speakers aren’t meant to be played loud. If you have a good preamp and amp they sound very nice, the mods and the highs are very will in place. You can’t play them above 80 DB. If you do the will get muddy. I love them for the price you can’t go wrong but them.

The current model has them listed as 4 ohm's. This upsets many people because when they launched, they were listed at 6 ohm's. The truth is, nobody really makes 6 ohm speakers. It's a label that gets put on speakers that can't reach 8 ohm efficiency but is better than 4 ohms. Moukey basically stopped putting a frivolous 6 ohm sticker on them, and started calling them a more appropriate 4 ohms. Any modern reciever or amp made after the late 1970's can run these just fine. Just don't run at max volume for hours on end. For normal listening levels, 4 ohms is perfectly safe on modern equipment.

What is the minimum input wattage needed to drive this speaker to a reasonable volume?

20 Watts per channel works fine

How is 20 hz achieved with a 5 inch driver ?

i used a monoprice pure tube amp connected via bluetooth 5 aptxhd to my xperias 5 & 10 and both were able to play these speakers below 10hz, tho i personally could not hear anything under 24hz, these speakers did better in testing that could have been imagined at 4x the price. note- mine are the 6ohm version not 4 ohm. video attached shot from the xperia 5II showing the lower tier xperia 10 plus playing these speakers down to 20 hz and below
