This is actually sturdy and precision made
I've been reloading for 15 years on another Turret press. Wow, have i been missing out. This is leaps and bounds above that press. This is actually sturdy and precision made. I used to have to hold shell cases so they lined up when i resized and bullet seated, etc. Not anymore. Also, when you resized on the cheaper turret press, you knew it. Full length sizing 308 on the other one was not fun, you had to exert a lot of force to make it happen. Not with this press. Better leverage and stability. The lock and load feature is great too. I swap out dies very quickly. Some nights when I load a few rounds of several different calibers I swap alot of dies. When you buy this press go ahead and pick up a 10 pack of the bushings, if you can afford it, go ahead and pick up 2 packs. You can take a 1 1/8" drill bit and make you a little die shelf to hold your dies so you can have easy access to them.

Nice kit
Love everything in this setup except for the dial calipers that are included in the kit. Fortunately I have a digital set I got at Home Depot. Everything else is really good to top notch. The photo shows the automatic primer feeder tube, but my kit didn't include it and it is absent from the product description. In order to get the overall length gauge to work you'll need to invest in about $100.00 in additional parts. The primer catch tray is a nice idea but most of the primers ejected towards the front and ended up in my lap or on the floor. The powder measure holds nearly a pound of powder and throws fairly accurate charges, does well enough for most reloader's needs. It does have a trickle charger for really precise loads. I think Hornady sells a micrometer metering attachment for better precision. All you need to start reloading in one box, maybe get different calipers though. And for the love of all that is holy don't forget to send in for your free bullets! It's like getting a $100-$200 rebate. This package qualifies you for 500 free bullets, you can choose one caliber among the most popular sizes.UPDATE: I complained about the primer catch tray above. I found the key to it working properly is to have the "positive priming system" lever in place, even if you're not using it to prime the sized cases.Edit: After 4 years and thousands of rounds, time to do an update. All of what was written above still holds true. There have been some failures in the accessories that came with the kit. The first to go was the digital scale. It lasted less than a year and then quit. I went to a RCBS beam scale. The next thing to go was the hand primer. After using the Hornady hand primer for a few hundred rounds I could tell that it would not have a long life, way too much plastic in the inner parts. The Hornady lasted probably 3000 rounds and finally became unusable. Again I turned to a RCBS products the hand primer with the universal shell holder. It was a huge improvement over the Hornady primer system.

Garbage scale, worthless & dangerous!
The press works great. The powder dropper is decent. The book works but get another to compare. The scale is why I’m giving such a poor review. You would think they would provide a fair quality scale considering what it’s used for. Honestly the biggest pile of garbage i’ve ever tried to use. Will give a different weight every other measurement. Im surprised hornady isn't getting sued yet for injuries or gun damaged. If you order this kit order a separate scale, powder measure stand & case trimmer. Most importantly the scale!

Great press. An update of a classic performer.
Great press. Solid construction. Accurate machining. The action is smooth and reliable. I load .338 Lapua on it with no hang ups and it has all the leverage needed for that cartridge. This press is essentially a lock and load die bushing style version of the Hornady 007 that made them famous. My Dad has the 007 and I had used it for years, and after trying to find a used one for more than 2 years, I gave up and bought this. Since the 007 was tough to beat in a single stage press, so is this press. The lock and load system makes die changes easy. An extra step to set up, but once you have your dies set right it takes seconds to change them out compared to threading them in and out. The “0” style of this press adds durability and stability to it that other “C” frame presses just can’t compete with. I only have just a few things to address. The press doesn’t come with the automatic primer feed block and tubes - not that the auto system works all that well to begin with, but it would have only added about $10 worth of materials to include it. I use a hand auto primer so to me it doesn’t matter much. Also only one die bushing is included. Since the minimum to reload any caliber is two seperate dies, would it have killed them to include two? For my last little gripe, it would be nice if they would include a template for marking out the mounting holes required to mount the press. That’s also not a huge thing, but it would only need to be a piece of heavy paper. Basically this is a great press and my gripes don’t even warrant removing a star. Hornady stands behind their presses like a great company should. Their customer service is top notch if you have any issues at all. I can’t imagine a need to replace this, but if I ever have to I’ll be looking at Hornady first.Note: one last thing to add. I noticed another reviewer said that removing the dies from the LNL bushings was difficult. The best way to do it is to turn the die/bushing assembly counterclockwise in the press like you are going to change dies. Instead of pulling out the die, put a wrench on the die and twist it loose. The press will hold the bushing and your die will back right out.
