This book is so good it is a must get I hope that ms Mavis comes out with another book that she wrote

This book took me there again and again. Clear, concise, and mindful of the people the book is about I will be re-reading this book many times. I learned a lot as the book made many connections among artists from diverse genres. Of course, that is the story of Mavis Staples, but the people she has worked with certainly are worth reading about more than once.

Fascinating

It was a gift. The recipient said it was enjoyable and informative.

Wonderful story of this family and their music. And through them, the experiences of many African Americans both in and out of the music business
