Heavy cowhide, well-made and finished - Good buy
Bought the black version... Opening the plastic outer bag and pulling the leather case out of the inner fabric shipping bag released a flood of leather aroma - Nice! It's a bit flat on first view but it plumps right back when you start putting things into it. Heavier than my previous nylon messenger bag, but that's the nature of stout construction. I like the slip-in brass spring connectors under the buckle straps, but I did end up punching a couple of extra holes further out to accommodate extra jacket or other overloading. The dual pockets on the front under the flap will hold an iPad Air 2 perfectly, and the flap keeps it secure. I tested the water resistance and it does a good job of beading up water, it will need to be re-coated at some point in the future as it wears, again, normal. The end 'ears' do stick out a bit beyond the cover flap, so watch out for downpours. Shoulder strap is cotton webbing with a leather top cover sewn on. The strap does not have a fussy sliding pad to keep adjusting, and the webbing has enough texture to stay in place with most jackets. The top grip/handle is stout and the bag balances well, but I'll be using the shoulder strap most of the time because I always carry too much!
