Legacy of Steel: Book Two of the Legacy Trilogy

It's not a bad book but... in trying to summarise it it feels as if the story is happening to the characters, rather than the characters being part of the story.The overuse of simile and metaphor is exhausting. I found myself skipping the first paragraph of each chapter as not only is it waffle, it's often contradictory. For example, 'motionless ink black water some thing something reflection of purity...' and you think.. if it's ink black, how did you know it was water? How could you see your reflection in it? It adds nothing and loses a lot.There's also huge gaps, as if the writer didn't want to explain the why. The trilogy starts out OK, but then there's a huge wrench as it's all abandoned to push the story - I can't say plot - along. For example, there's repeated reference to a Trelan.. but.. I knew her for a chapter, with no reference as to what she did, where she came from or why she's relevant so we keep getting references to this hero figure that don't land.Not a bad book, just one that feels lost, with more words than the plot can support and as this started with the author pushing the characters around rather than their being in a story.

I’m enjoying the Series but do find the characters a bit of a muddle. To be honest I have struggled to stick with it!! But no doubt I shall buy the third book in the series.

Just a brilliant continuing storyline, characters and plot. Best read for ages - perfect.

This novel is so full of action and intrigue that is leaves you breathless.The characters are likeable and interesting.I look forward to the next instalment.
