Dear Zoo: A Lift-the-Flap Book

One of our favorite toddler and preschooler books. I have 6 children and this was my go to “first book” for all of them. We love a good interactive flap book! The repetitive storyline makes it easy to anticipate the next lines and memorize (great for foundational reading skills). The only con is the same with all flap books -little hands ripping them off! But I see it as a sign of a well loved book! And worth ordering a new one if it’s beyond fixing with tape.

My daughter, who is 18 months old LOVES this book! She wants me to read it to her over and over again. She loves pulling the flaps down and pointing to all the animals. It’s pretty durable so far and my daughter literally wants to read it daily.

Bought this for a 1 1/2 year old little friend and it’s her favorite book! It’s super cute. She can learn animals, we like to make the animal sounds as we go, and she can learn works like over, under, side, etc. it’s fun for her to find the puppy at the end and I swear she acts so surprised like she didn’t know it was there every time. So cute. 🥰

This is a staple for any toddler! I love this book and so has every one of my grandkids that I've bought it for! The love interacting with the book, opening the flaps, and saying the name of the animals! Always one of their favorites!

When we were buying books for our little one, we wanted a mix of interactive and "regular" ones for her to read from. The interactive aspect is why we got this book, and it's been great. We've been reading it to her everyday since she was 2-3 months, and around month 6 she started pulling open the tabs that reveal the animals herself and then giving small "ooo!" exclamations. Very cute. The interesting thing I noticed with this book and a couple other interactive ones we have is that her dexterity seemed to improve a little more rapidly once she started turning the pages and opening the tabs. I also like the story line as it is logical/reasonable without being too strange. We also go to the zoo a lot with her, so the book serves to reminder her a bit of the different animals we've seen. I would recommend this book and will continue to use it.

Just perfect. Animals to guess at and make their sounds, a few words but not too many, easy flaps to lift -- it's become a favourite for my under-2 toddler!

Excelente para niños pequeños y que son muy curiosos. Importante cuidar bien, las pestañas. No son frágiles, pero siempre hay que tener cuidado.
