This is a very versatile thermostat that will work in a variety of applications. I bought mine to use with an electric heatpump and wanted to be able to adjust the temperature span so that the heatpump would start and run for a longer cycle period. This is much easier and more efficient for the compressor on a heatpump. Many modern thermostates only allow only a CPH (cycles per hour) adjustment that will not limit the on-off times of your heating unit, since the thermostat will prioritize the temperature setting over CPH. This thermostat allows adjustment of the on and off temperature up to 2 degrees on the high and low temp (span) on either the AC or Heating side. It is accurate and so far has worked flawlessly, a bargain compared to the Honeywell thermostat it replaced.

It works. Just need professional help. Cause my compressor did not perform perfect as it does with the same kind of the AC units. So, in short look for compatibility.

The Heagstat H721 Non-Programmable Heat Pump Thermostat was a fairly easy swap out from a VIIVE TP-N-721. The plug on back plate was different. I killed the evaporator control voltage breaker. Then took a picture of the before thermostat wiring for color codes and connection point reference which was similar. Get help from an electrician if you don't know what you are doing electrically. This thermostat controls the compressor control relay, the reversing valve and the heat strips. I laid out the two thermostats documentation side by side for reference. Amazon delivered the thermostat the next day, so we did not have to go without too long.

I installed this thermostat and it worked great for one day before the screen went blank. Batteries are good and I connected a com wire to the C terminal providing 24 volts from R terminal to C terminal. Removed the thermostat and put in two new batteries and it still doesn't work. Pulled out the box and instructions but there is no information or phone number for support. I owned a commercial HVAC/refrigeration company for 30 years so I'm very familiar with the installation. I have no choice but to return it to Amazon.

Easy to install, seems to be working just fine. Use it in my garage (radiant heated)
