they screw together to make one unit- only the large or the new kits come with tray- you can purchase a 10 tray, but the ability to stack is good for the 5-6 sets

Q: Has anyone used these to "blush" doll repaints?

Yes, you can use them to fix or make a reborn doll. The 1st layer should go on fine. You will have to wash the vinyl doll parts after each layer in warm water, after allowing it to set, which usually takes a minimum of about 2-3 hours. The pastels should actually bind with the vinyl. You will need to seal them after your last layer

Q: Can these be used on polymer clay? before or after baking?

Yes. You can definitely use them after baking your clay. It should adhere nicely, however if not, you may need a fixative of some sort
