Truly a long lasting solution to water protection and/or water retention.
I've now had about 30+ years of building experience with pond liner material (aka EPDM). I first used it on a flat roof way back in 1995 in Arizona and migrated to using it to hold moist soil in large planter boxes, etc. I like to go back to my prior work occasionally to see how things are holding up. It helps me perfect my craft. Even with the Arizona sun beating on that EPDM roof for 30 years and experiencing minus 25-F winters and 4ft snows (Flagstaff at 7,300ft!), there's no signs of weakening. Yeah, there's a slightly yellowish patina where water congregated, but overall the material is still flexible and water tight. Adhesion locations (seams) are slightly lifting in some areas, but they've got a lot of life left.In the old days we used a special primer and glue to make the seams. Today, EPDM double-sided tape is used and makes things a lot faster and appears just as secure. If staples are used in the planters to secure the material to the upper rim, they can easily be sealed with a tiny patch of the same tape. Fast.I'm a big fan of EPDM and even used the liquid stuff on my RV many years ago (the ONLY supplier I know selling true liquid EPDM is in Connecticut: EPDMCoatings.com. BTW, the only drawback to liquid EPDM is that it can't be used on a vertical or steeply sloping surface or it'll run-off before it dries) . Anyway, don't be confused with others claiming their 'liquid rubber' is the same stuff. Nothing I know of lasts as long as EPDM. PERIOD!

great product
This is the only type and weight of liner I use on all of my water feature projects, main pond and swale are 10 years old without a problem.

Worth every penny
If you are creating a small pond, this is the quality material you want - it is flexible, durable, and easy to work with. My cute fiberglass pond developed a crack due to regular emptying and handling that I have not been able to repair effectively (I am not interested in really learning fiberglass repair to be transparent so I have only tried tapes). I added this liner underneath. Problem solved with crazy chemicals nor stress. Because the material is so flexible, I was able to easily fit it to this very curvy space/pond and tuck the excess up under the border of the fiberglass. If the fiberglass further disintegrates, I know I can count on the liner to keep the water where I intend.
