Best soap I've ever purchased!
I have tried dozens and dozens of different soaps and moisturizers on my skin for the last 20 years(I have struggled with acne all my adult life) and I can honestly say this is the best soap I've ever come across. I can't believe how it has already made such a difference on my skin. My skin was looking good when I began taking lysine but then I tried a skin care line that my friend was selling and the products really made me break out. My skin was bad. I found this online and thought I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did. My skin began clearing up immediately. It does have a bit of a drying feeling but I just use coconut oil or jojoba oil afterwards and my skin is glowy. I have also given my two teenage boys the soap and they love it too. I love that it comes in such a huge chunk so that I can use it however I want. I cut off a smaller bar for myself and lather up in my hands. For my boys I put some soap and water in a dropper bottle and they squirt some into their hands. It works great and I don't have to worry about them making a mess. The large chunk of soap will last us quite a while too. This is one of my favorite purchases and it is an amazing price. You can't go wrong. Sidenote: If you suffer from acne you might want to try taking a lysine supplement. It has worked wonders for my boys and myself. My skin was amazing after just two weeks but got bad after I tried my friend's skin care line. The combination of lysine and this soap is magical for me.

great product for body breakouts, kp, eczema
I don't know what drew me to try this, but I'm glad the force pulled me into this direction, I didn't know I needed it until I read the reviews. I've struggled with back acne, kp, and eczema my while life. After reading the reviews and great results I decided to give it a shot. I noticed a difference after the first use just in my skin texture. Now that it's been a couple weeks I've noticed my kp isn't as bad my breakouts have decreased and again my skin texture has improved significantly. I'm an Estheician so I was a little weary of it being to harsh or drying but when paired with a good moisturizer it's perfect. Side note... I only use this on my body, not my face unless I am wearing a lot of makeup, I will use as a precleanse. I like that the ingredient list is simple and organic. No extra fillers like other well known brands. I would recommend getting a soap dish that is covered asap. It will break down in the shower if it gets too wet. It took me a few days to get a covered dish so I left it in the back of the shower and not only did it start to break down and get every where but also broke down the caulking on our tub. You'll use this on a wash cloth, loofa, or in your hands but not directly on the skin. You'll feel squeaky clean after which is an indication that you need to moisturize. Im looking forward to how the continued use of this product will effect my skin. I wish I would have tried it years ago.

Authentic African Black Soap isn't Black, It's Brown, and is truly African-West African to be exact-This is authentic
If you were on the fence when this product was a lightning deal cause you were unsure and missed out, let me give you the goods on the product so you'll understand why Sky Organics product is so good, and why true African Black Soap has been used in West Africa for eons, and I've been to to three West African nations and can attest that what you're purchasing is the real deal. First, what actually is it? Here's what you need to know: the soap is made from cacao ash cocoa pods, shea bark, plantain, and shea butter that is roasted, it's a labor intensive process and recipes vary, but all of these plants and ingredients are native to West Africa. So if you want the real deal, buy soap that is sourced in West Africa. Sky Organics soap is sourced in Ghana- so you're good on that front. Second important point is Authentic African Black Soap isn't Black it's a speckled Brown with variations of dark and light brown bits. This is important because you can walk into a very famous natural foods market and other natural stores and find perfectly squared bars of black colored soap that's sold as African Black Soap, but please know that to achieve that perfectly solid bar unnatural additives are added. Authentic African Black soap is crumbly and because it tends to absorb water, It's actually not a good idea to store it near the sink or in damp areas. You want to keep it dry between uses. I dry my bar off after each use and wrap it in plastic wrap or place it in a plastic bag.. My soap arrived wrapped in plastic wrap in the Sky Organics paper bag, just as pictured. This is important too because it indicates that Sky Organics understands that what they;re offering is the authentic product and understands how to package it to maintain its potency and authenticity. So you can purchase with confidence. So now that you know what it is, Why Use it? It is the gold standard if you have problem skin, but even if you don't, the West has finally realized what Africans have known for centuries: Shea Butter is excellent for skin. Take a look at the products in your markets. There's a Shea Butter revolution. But in West Africa, it's been used for centuries, Newborn babies are washed with it. Remember the perfect skin you had as a child! But I want to caution you. If you are looking for perfumed, pretty soap you can display on your counter in your bathroom, this aint it. It smells like unrefined Cocoa/coconut, an earthy, oaty smell, so if you're not put off by that or that's not important to you, this is your soap. If you're looking for a soap that will cleanse, moisturize, and exfoliate, all in one, and won't aggravate your problem skin, acne, eczema, write your problem in here, then this is the soap for you! I've used African Black Soap for years on my acne prone, sensitive skin and I can honestly say for me it was a turning point in changing my skin for the better. I wouldn't be without it now and this product is the best example of truly authentic African Black Soap without travelling to West Africa and importing it yourself. So if you have problem skin, try it, if you are looking for a natural way to moisturize, cleanse, and exfoliate, try it. I do also want to share another revelation with you that changed my skin for the better. Using African Black Soap, I wash my face once a day. I choose at night, just before I go to bed, because African Black Soap is an excellent makeup remover, and for me it takes my Bare Minerals off better than anything else. Leveraging the natural exfoliating and moisturizing properties of the soap, I don't need to wash my face more than once a day. I found in using it this way, my skin was less oily, which, ended the breakouts, and with less breakouts, I had less scarring, and the old scars, faded and diminished over time, and my pores were visibly smaller. All of these things were attributes of using this soap and not washing my face as much. What I learned from it is this. Your skin has natural oils and moisturizing properties in it. By washing your face morning and night, and with products laden with all kinds of additives you can't even pronounce, you are actually stripping your skin of its natural oils, which causes your skin to then over produce the oils to compensate. So your skin becomes an oil slick, your pores become clogged, and you get pimples, and you begin the process all over again, because you wash your face more etc thinking you are helping yourself, but you're not. So if you're stuck in this cycle like I was for years before trying African Black Soap, give this a try, by Sky Organics. It's authentic, sourced from Africa, pure good stuff. I like to think of it this way, African Black Soap is like Wen for your Skin

Excellent, Drying, and Caused my skin to react
This is an amazing soap! I am not of African descent but I thought I would give it a try! The soap is hard to work with in the shower and needs to be chopped up to use as it comes in a huge square loaf brick. The clean I experienced with this soap is amazing. I even used it to wash my hair! HOWEVER, I am allergic to this soap. After using it I had rashes scattered about and my face turned a little red. The reason? I believe that the vitamin e in this soap is a key ingredient and it was too strong for my skin. That’s not to say it won’t work for someone else. I have some skin sensitivity, but nothing to outrageous. I have no skin issues to speak of, just sensitive. I still recommend this soap for anyone who needs vitamin for clearing acne. Beware though, the clean is excellent but quite drying.

So far so good
Purchased from this vendor because of reviews. Originally got mine from another co. for years. Oddly they just don't sell it anymore. So far so good it's working like the other supplier. I am skeptical about this soap from just anyone or vendor selling them as you would want to be careful about what you are putting onto your skin. Anyone using African Black Soap for the first time should stick with it for at least a month. Give your skin time to adjust. I read so many reviews and have seen pics of people using it and to me if they would've just given it a little more time they would've seen results. I know these days people are looking for a quick fix. Your skin will be very dry after each use as it extracts everything (it deep cleans skin) but afterwards pat dry your face and the key is to use a hydration afterwards. If you see videos of people with the best results (b4/after) notice they almost always use natural shea butter. This is the key and balancer you can't use one w/o the other. It seems very odd to cleanse your face then add an oil/butter to your face but you'll find that this is what makes it work. And it does WORK! I had horrible teenage acne with pimples on top of pimples with discoloration. Fast forward 20 years and horrible acne (adult) again. I tried everything and came across ABS and have been using it for years. A little goes a long way the soap and the butter and cost wise. It's cheaper than all those other prods on the market with little to no results and their expensive.

Very impressed
So far this soap has lived up to the hype. I purchased it to help with perioral dermatitis I have on my chin but I've used it on my whole face. It's really helped the clarity and texture of my skin. I was using a much more expensive brand and didn't get nearly as good results. The first few days I was really dry but within a week I balanced out and now my skin is soft and even. I liked it so much for my face and I wanted a more natural body wash so I ended up dissolving part of the bar in water using directions I found online. I've also been happy with that. I did have a small purge on my face and body that resolved within 2 days which can happen with this type of soap (it's deeply cleansing junk that would have eventually surfaced anyways). For anyone struggling with perioral dermatitis, this is the best solution I've found so far. It dries it out but in a good way- that begins the healing process. It's a very stubborn skin condition and I've tried lots of things and would recommend starting with this over all of them. The bar itself is huge and will last forever. You can either break off a tiny piece, make a liquid soap, or chop it up to smaller bars. If you do small bars, they need to dry out well between uses since it's already a pretty soft soap.

AMAZING PRODUCT!!
This is REAL BLACK SOAP! It really helped clear up my face. I have ultra sensitive skin, so I had to slowly work up to my skin adjusting to it. It can dry out your face, so be sure to use a good moisturizer right afterwards, while your pores are still open. I like to use organic virgin coconut oil (unrefined) it really helps lock in moisture. This soap has cleared up my face. I have mild acne & bad red pigmentation. This soap has helped. The first week of using it, I only used once a day & it made my redness worse, I stuck with it & now my skin is adjusting & is getting lighter. Only regret is not buying this sooner!! Would def by again & do highly recommend! Came in 2 days with prime & the bag it comes in, helps lock in moisture. Do your research on how to use & don't over do it right away if you have sensitive skin. It will be worth it & will last forever. Only need about half a pea size chunk to wash your face. Make a lather in your hand & use your fingers to massage on face. Using a wash cloth might be to abrasive, it was for me, so I just use my finger tips. Then I gently rinse off with warm watet, pat dry & immediately moisturize!! Love this soap!

and it has literally changed my skin for the better. My skin is acne-prone
I've been using diluted, mainstream versions of ABS (Shea Moisture, Nubian Heritage, etc) as cleanser for over a year, and it has literally changed my skin for the better. My skin is acne-prone, and particularly sensitive to cleansers. If it's not agreeing with my skin AND actively helping my acne, I'm going to break out. So, having had excellent results with the mainstream versions, I assumed that genuine black soap would be even better. Three days after using this soap, my skin has broken out for the first time in over six months. Painful, red pustules all over my cheeks. I know it's not purging - there are no ingredients in this product that could make that happen - so my skin just doesn't agree with it. It's breaking out my body, too. I'm thinking it has something to do with the slight residue left on the skin after use, or perhaps because it's so drying and strong. Either way, I'm throwing in the towel and going back to the milder, diluted formulas that seem to work so well for me. I must say, this brand of the soap is definitely very nice. The shipping, packaging, and product quality is excellent and I have no complaints in that way. I just wanted to throw out a word of caution to other folks; there's a good chance this will work well for you. African black soap truly is a miracle product. However, if it's hurting your skin, don't keep using it in blind faith. Try a different brand or formula instead.
