Exceptional Self-Improvement Book
TLDR Version: Excellent, informative read, would suggest to anyone seeking self-improvement, regardless of the type of person they are.Just finished reading this book, it exceeded my expectations, even though I already had high expectations from having read other books by this author. Unlike many self-improvement books, the author doesn't just tell you what you want to hear, he instead sincerely suggests you take a deep look at the problems you have in dealing with others and your life in general. Of course, he also goes a step further by suggesting several solutions to these problems, and how to apply these solutions. He explains all of this in simple and easy to follow along terms, so anyone can pick up this book and get value out of it. Will be suggesting this book to anyone looking for self-help/improvement!

Learn to be exceptional
I just finished reading "Be Exceptional." As I placed the book on my desk, I realized that I wished to read it again. There are so many "pearls of wisdom" that Joe Navarro has to offer in this fast reading book. I totally believe that "Be Exceptional" should be personal reading for everyone. Whether you wish to pursue a future in Business, Education, Human Resources, Forensics, Criminal Justice or just become a better spy, this book will offer a great deal to your total character. While you can get your basic information from many resources, why just be a little better than ordinary when you can become exceptional? FBI Special Agent Joe Navarro breaks it all down into a very easy recipe that will give you something that is open for easy consumption. Joe manages to weave his worldly experiences to both educate and entertain. He offers a diverse look at society while giving his readers a pathway to become a more astute person, a better communicator, and most important-an exceptional human being.

Add this to your must haves
UPDATE: This was a GREAT book and it will surely be added as a reference book to always go back to as to master exceptional behavior. One note, as I love neuroscience, please correct the spelling ofSantiago Ramón y Cajal. (in the book his last name is missing the “L” on several locations. That stung a little given that he discovered the axonal growth cone, and demonstrated experimentally that the relationship between nerve cells was not continuous, or a single system as per then extant reticular theory, but rather contiguous; there were gaps between neurons. This book is exceptional just as it’s title. I bought the audio book as well. I throughly enjoyed this book.Old review (I honestly just started reading it and love the first chapter. I will update once I finish. So far it’s a win for me.)

Excellent
Another excellent read by Mr. Navarro. He has given me more information than I could have ever learned from others. The way Mr. Navarro explains in all his books gives the understanding on how situations take place and how to deal with them. It is highly recommended for every person in law enforcement to read these books as they are extremely informative and you can use it in your training as well.

To be exceptional you must learn from the exceptional; Joe is that person!
Years ago, when I joined the FBI’s elite Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program, I discovered one of the greatest gifts in my professional life, a teacher, mentor, and guide by the name of Joe Navarro. Joe wasn’t just a mentor who provided his sage advice, but throughout our friendship he taught me the five domains of the exceptional that he has selflessly shared in his latest masterpiece:- Self-mastery- Seeing what matters- Communication- Action- Psychological comfortJoe highlights that to be exceptional you must do exceptional things every day. One of those daily habits of the exceptional is “Self-Apprenticeship.” To be worthy of leading, leaders invest in their own knowledge, growth, and potential. Leaders take responsibility for their own improvement, supplemented by mentors and guides. They carve out the time to work on themselves their entire lives. Give yourself and those in your life the great gift of being exceptional.

Good read
Re enforces key foundational pillars of leadership with examples from FBI rather than business examples and motivates one to go above and beyond!

Not crisp, pragmatic and to the point
Not very crisp, pragmatic and to the point - meanders around in lot's of stories and feels like page filler.
