Great portable AND home player
This is a fantastic dvd player. It's almost as if we have a 2-in-1 player- a great dvd player for our tv that also goes in the car! I bought this specifically because our other portable player died and we needed a new one for long car/plane trips. After getting burned with a cheap RCA model at a local store, I chose this one for its long battery life, two headphone jacks, remote control, and great brand name. After using it, I was so excited to see it has a matte screen, so the sun doesn't affect the viewing ability, and it remembers where you are on the dvd, even *after* you remove it and have played other discs! It is nice and heavy for a portable player, so I don't feel as if it will snap in two if it falls on the floor of the car. It also doesn't make a "running" noise when playing- the other cheap player we have is very loud until the disc stops spinning. The flip lid is not flimsy and the buttons are simple to use. We needed a new home player too, but decided to use this one instead. Unlike other players, the screen will go black when you plug it into the tv- no more having to turn the player around so you aren't watching the same show on two screens. I'm very happy with this player.

Reliable and sturdy DVD player
We purchased this as a travel DVD player for my 3 year old son. We bring it everywhere because we have long commutes and he's with us. It gets thrown into backpacks, into the car, man-handled by a 3 year old, and still plays perfectly fine. We've had ours for over a year now. The battery can last for several hours after a full charge. We probably charge it every other day, with daily use. It also comes with a car charger. Just a note - if you are using the DVD player while it is plugged in, it will not charge. It will only charge if the DVD player is off. Otherwise, it's easy to use, and for the size of the DVD player, the sound and picture quality are both appropriate. Great little DVD player for what we need it for.

Lousy Product!
The Sony DVP-FX750 portable DVD player stopped working within 60 days of purchase. It simply stopped playing DVDs. As a side note, I purchased the Square Trade extended warranty, and this proved to be absolutely useless. I paid them to protect my product, and they told me to contact Sony. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with Sony. The end result is that I am out of pocket $15 to ship the DVD player back to Sony. (Sony would not cover this cost.) I'm also out the money that I paid to Square Trade. It's ridiculous.

Nice DVD player but I would go for the bigger screen model...
Let me start out by saying that the only reason why I bought a portable DVD player was to watch P90X exercise videos and follow along with the trainer. For that purpose, it does its job. However, had I known more about screen size, I would have gone for the more expensive 9" DVD player as I need to do all the routines with my glasses on. Other than that, one small negative is that the battery life is short. I must charge the player every day. Which is not a big deal unless I forget. In that case I have to carry the AC adapter around with the DVD player as I move from room to room. The pluses are: Intuitive operation Appears to be fairly sturdy Lots of screen adjustments (contrast, brightness, etc...) The minuses are: Short battery life Smallish screen

DVD player excellent, but battery could be better
I am very impressed with this DVD player which also plays CD's. I especially like the remote control, which allows me to replay parts. I am using the DVD player to learn a foreign language and it is really important that I am able to pause and replay short portions to hear it spoken again, without having to fiddle with buttons on the actual player. I also like this players compact size. In short I am very satisfied with the player as a whole and the quality of the image on the player is excellent. The only thing that would make this player perfect is a faster recharger or a longer playing battery. It plays for about 3 hours, but needs that much time to recharge as well. In spite of the battery, I would still recommend this player.

The picture is clear. The sound is fine also. It is uncomplicated to use. It has headphone jacks for two. I tried one of them nd it was fine and left no external sound.

Had this for over a year and use it just occasionally. Still works great though, haven't had any issues.

Initially I assumed it was a fault of the machine ,but later realized it was the DVDs.. It took me some time to verify this. I am thoroughly enjoying my Sony DVD player. Pat Gallant
