Well it's a wifi extender. Some say they work, some say they don't. Seemed to work for me so honestly nothing more to add.

This does seem to extend the range of my security network. The contact sensor on my house side door is a distance from my router and it seems to work perfectly. The device is easy to set up and looks good.However, I think the extender is NOT designed to work with Ring cameras. To extend those, I think you either need a WiFi extender or a Chime Pro.

I can plug this in and unplug it, near to my ring floodlight cam, and it makes no apparent difference to signal. Seems useless. Save your money and get proper WiFi boosters.

For anyone confused, this is a z-wave extender not WiFi. The ring alarm system communicates to the contact / motion sensor s via z-wave. This will not extend the range for the ring cameras as they are WiFi based. As far as a z-wave extender, this seems to provide solid performance in my house.

I have a bunch of Aeotec Z-Wave Smart Switch 6 which have absolutely atrocious signal range, even though mains powered devices are supposed to be repeaters it just didn't work.Bought this and plugged in in, roughly in the middle of my house and joined it to my network, now all of my Z-Wave devices, ring door sensors etc connect flawlessly.Other than joining our to your Z-Wave network properly, no other configuration is needed.I use Home Assistant and an Aeotec Z-Stick Gen 5.
