Prayer: Communing with God in Everything--Collected Insights from A. W. Tozer

This book is wonderful. The author was truly a man of GOD and he writes a very clearly detailed book. He reminds us all that we need to stay in prayer more to our Father and that we need to have an intimate relationship with our Maker. Our Father wants us to have a close relationship with HIM and go to HIM for everything in our lives. IF we do this, we will begin to hear HIM talking with us. Most Christians do not hear the Fathers voice and think nothing of not hearing but our lives would be so much fuller and richer if we CAN hear the Father speaking to us. I definitely want to learn to hear the Masters voice speaking to me. We need to learn to take the time to sit quietly and talk with HIM and wait to hear HIM speaking to us. I have felt the touch of the Father and I can tell you from experience that there is NOTHING like it. When it happened to me, it changed me and that became my focus. I want that feeling again and will do whatever it takes to get it. It takes effort and time to be still but it is so worth whatever price you pay. Our Father has compassion for us and HE wants us to come to HIM. HE can give us untold, unimaginable peace and comfort if we but take the time to spend with HIM. HE gives the best gifts and we benefit without measure when we take time for HIM. All the Father wants is for us to desire HIM.

I have found that I love the author. I have several of his books now. I especially enjoyed this book because I am often befuddled about praying. This book cleared up some of my questions and encouraged me to pray. I love the author's bold and honest style.

A.W. Tozer wrote this book based on his own personal experience in meditation and prayer. As a scholar he provides great insight into what is right and wrong in approaching prayer. The chapter titles are good indicators of his insight and practical approach: Removing the Veil, The Universal Presence, The Speaking Voice, and Restoring the Creator-Creature Relation.

Get out your highlighter. Tozer does not presume to teach us how to pray in these selections, but rather engages us in deep and challenging truths about the nature of prayer and the God we are praying to. The editor’s reflections at the end of each chapter can feel repetitive but offer glimpses of further insight and are worth reading.

I love what I'm learning. I will continue to listen to these dvd's. So helpful. Great advise. Prayer is as necessary to everyday life as breathing. I pop them in my car radio on my very long commute to work. However, if I listen on my laptop, I can go back 20 seconds if I miss something I want to hear again. Can't do that in my car for some reason.

One of the best books on prayer I've ever read. I intend to read it through again.

Tower has a way of cutting through religious rites to hothead heart of obedience. God wants our hearts to be obedient to His voice.

Tozer and his editor have written a good book. Often the editor, who follows Tozer's comments, has the best stuff! A good book. I'd recommend it.

I found this book an excellent read, Tozer certainly lived beyond the level of any Christian I have ever met, and this book helps bring you to a higher spiritual level in you life. This is an outstanding read for those who long for a closer relationship with God.
