Memories of my dad and I eating Abalone
Great stuff! Very expensive for what you get, not complaining. Having abalone reminds me, as when I was a kid, when my dad would eat this. My mom would dice it up from the can, add diced chile, cilantro, onion, and tomato to it. Then chase it down with a beer! Thank you for the memories, mom and dad!!

Super delicious, expensive, but always delivered damaged!
As much as I love eating this brand of abalone, they are so irresponsible and have little appreciation towards their customers. Today, I received my fourth Amazon's "subscribe and save" order of three cans of the Geomar Golden Abalone and was again disappointed on it's condition. Every one of these deliveries had at least one can damaged or dented. Today's delivery was the worst! All three cans were damaged as shown in the photos. No blame is on USPS because the box it came in was undamaged. If I was shopping in a grocery store and saw a can damaged as this, I would definitely not buy it. Whoever is packing these orders seem to be taking advantage of these mail-in orders, where they can simply get rid of these damaged goods!

First time trying abalone!
I have heard so many wonderful, delicious things about abalone. I never tried it myself, mainly due to the price. I was afraid I would spend a hefty amount of money on something that I ended up hating.Since this is my first time trying abalone, I have no other abalone experiences to compare it to. That could be a good or bad thing. I HAVE, however, tried many, many other kinds of seafood. There are 6 nice sized abalone in each can. I decided to sauté some fresh garlic and mushrooms and then add in the sliced abalone. That is how my friend prepares it when she buys it so I decided to give it a try, too. Before adding in any other ingredients, I did taste a piece of the abalone on its own. So good! It is not fishy whatsoever. The texture is chewy, similar to calamari. It has a light, somewhat buttery flavor to it. When paired with the garlic and mushrooms over thin angel hair pasta, it was TO DIE FOR!The abalone is a bit on the salty side since it is in brine so be mindful of that if you are going to use it in a recipe. For my first time trying abalone, I was quite impressed and can see why it is such a pricey delicacy! YUM!

Dented can
I wanted to have my son share an abalone snack with his homeschooling Geography class. We bought this Can and some beautiful abalone shells to give as presents. The shells (6 “red”)came with no chips and very pretty. His talk was on Chile, which exports abalone. The Can came in the same package but dented so we were afraid to open it. Now I see my window is closed for returns.

You need to try abalone
This abalone is in a brine and is ready to eat. I will most likely mix up mayonnaise with lemon juice and eat it just with that. This is costly, no doubt about it. But, I don't get something like this hardly ever. And it is a luxury item. So, I will enjoy my can of abalone and eat it too. Luckily, my husband doesn't eat things like this. No seafood, no snails, no nothing that is fantastic, except a nice steak
