Works great, much better than the blue ambidextrous ones. It can hold a bunch of extra blades in the hilt, and is very easy to clean/lubricate. Fits in the hand well, and has yet to let me down. I’ve used this bad boy every day for a few years now. The blades that are made for it will cut anything you throw at it, and last a pretty decent time before getting too dull.

I HEAVILY rely on the s4’s overall durability. Nice grip. Great cut guard. A little dab of machine oil and you’re set for a lot of cutting!

Best box cutter for cardboard boxes. There is a belt clip available for this model but fits well in your pocket, so I never bothered. Important modification. I ground off the "tape breaker point". It is not needed and just pokes wholes in you pocket lining. You can use a grinder or mettal file. The metal is soft iron. One of them I ground off the tape breaker at work for a friends by scraping it back and forth on the rough concreate. That worked just fine also. I have always carried these in my pockets for more than 20 years now. The original I bought is still working strong. Needs a little oil now and then to keep it opening and closing smoothly. For all day warehouse work. I change to a new blade about once a week. Buy extra blades. They are cheaper with today dollars, than tommorow dollars.

I have one of these at every door in my house, in the utility drawer in the kitchen and the laundry room. In this day of packages you can’t have enough of these. Made well and they get the job done with packing tape on boxes. And not too sharp that teenagers can’t use them. An excellent utility knife for breaking down cardboard boxes. But that’s about all I use them for. This exact brand and model I have been using for over a decade. They store extra blades in the handle and have excellent safety features to lessen the risk of cutting yourself by accident. I have 4 teenagers use these to help me with my cardboard every week. Not a single cutting accident for them going on 2 years now. Highly recommend.

I work at a grocery store stocking all night, and this is perfect for whatever I need to open up. It's durable and safe, and even with a dull blade, it still opens what I need! The blade itself is also easy to replace, and having storage for an extra blade is always a plus!

I've used this box cutter before working at my longest job. That version was made of a stronger plastic/metal than this one. It feels strong enough to last and works exactly as the last one. **It only comes with ONE blade, which is already installed. If one plans on buying it, go ahead and a refill pack. They should be listed right below the item somewhere. I used the better quality one at work for 13 years. I never cut myself using it. I gave if four stars because it feels like it is cheaper made than what I am used to. The plastic used could be as good if not stronger. Since it came with only one blade and not at least 3 or so in the handle, that was disappointing. PROS: Catch-release for changing blades, keep them from coming out of the cutter too far, or falling out resulting in injury. Tape Split: Enough said. Thumb guard: The best feature in my opinion. Keeps fingers and thumb away from the blade. The blade is out just enough to do the work and minimizes damage to the product/item inside. Handle guard: opens to hold 3-4 extra blades. Don't jam too many or they will get stick. Getting them out might result in injury, broken blades, damaged cutter=lost money and a stinging cut. Thumb button: Silver, on hande, can be operated by the thumb. Has three settings and a 'Blade Change' for removal/insertion of old/new blade. Lightweight/durability unknown. Makes a good prospect for a great cutter. The company makes for lefties and righties. I was issued a cheap, poorly made cutter but it is high risk for injury and falling apart. Get this or something like it. I'd rather pay a bit more than risk accidentaly slicing through myself.

I use this daily at my job to safely create a top-cut cardboard container for easy access to product. I have yet to damage any product with the set top-cut length and feel safe working fast with the thumb guide. The product weight is excellent and survived a couple drops onto the floor. The ergonomics are standard and comfortable with decent texturing on the handle. The blade sharpness and durability is standard, but can easily be replaced with the integrated blade storage in the handle. I have gladly recommended this knife to my co-workers.

Best utility knife out there to have. It has a thumb safe guard, a tape cutter, a blade storage place, it even tells you how far to put the blade out to cut the top off a box, make a tray and change the blade.
