LAUNCHX431 V Pro 5.0 Elite 2025 New Gen. Oem Bluetooth Bidirectional Scan Tool w/ Canfd Doip ,Same as Pro3s+ 5.0 ,Online Coding&38+Reset for all Cars

I used the Launch X431 V Pro 4.0 on my daughter's 2017 BMW X1 this weekend to troubleshoot several issues it had, which I was able to resolve all codes (17 DTCs) successfully! The tool worked flawlessly to allow me to read the outstanding codes and their history, look them up/research with the online feature, monitor relevant PIDs during troubleshooting (graphing), and take actions to resolve cause(s), verify correct system operation, and then to clear all codes! Additionally, I changed out the battery/updated the car's computer, and reset the oil service and inspection service messages that have been long standing and outdated. While using the scanner tool, I also explored the other functional capabilities (bidirectional functions too) for familiarity and was impressed with what is available for future troubleshooting. I really liked the ease-of-use format of the software too. The scanner setup with registration and downloading "all" the car manufacturers software very straight forward and easily! Also purchased the X-431 TSGUN TMPS and BST360 Battery Tester tools to go with the X431 V Pro 4.0 Bidirectional Scanner tool.My next projects are to setup backup key fobs and replace TPMS tire pressure sensor for this BMW, and my 2007 Dodge Ram Truck, as well as our other daughter's 2012 Jeep Patriot. I had waited a long time since purchasing my first and only OBDII code reader (Innova 3110) before purchasing this Launch bidirectional scanner after doing a lot of research to decide on the x431 V Pro 4.0. Since I do all my own automobile work (i.e., I have not taken any of my automobiles to a mechanic or dealership for service in 45+ years and don't plan to, which is why i bought this new tool), the Launch x431was something that I thought would be worth the investment!. It is a quality piece of equipment that I am very impressed with that gives me very close if not the same capabilities of the Car Dealership shop with understandably minus some proprietary/restricted features.My only concern is that after two years, the annual service fee seems a little high. But since my work is only on my personal/family cars (and I don't buy new one's very often), I may go a couple of years before I subscribe to update the tool after my 2 years of update service ends. Overall, I believe this scanner to be worth its cost (best capable scanner for all of my needs) to enable me to be a self-sufficient mechanic. I would buy it again.

Overall a great affordable bi-directional. Has most of the features that a more advanced home mechanic DIY would need or understand. When you get to wanting to use bi-directional equipment, you reach another level of troubleshooting and a level of knowledge YOU need to understand to make sense of what the scan tool is displaying. Remember, it doesn't tell you what's wrong. It gives information and you have to figure out with your brain what the symptoms are pointing you too as the problem. I'm still learning how to use it. It has some evap test that I tried which eliminated some problems I thought I had. Was nice to not crawl under vehicle to get to evap switching valves! Was able to "LOOK" at MAF and TPS values, Fuel trims, Air/Fuel and O2 sensor operations etc, etc. The unit comes with a Bluetooth OBD2 VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) that sends data to and from the tablet which is actually a Lenovo TB-8505F. The unit uses the camera for taking pictures if you need to. It can be removed from the protective rubber case to add a larger memory card. Since it is a tablet you can load other OBD2 programs besides the X-431 Launch program. It came with other loaded programs. Google, obviously since it is an Android tablet, along with all the normal tablet functions. Just don't let it fill up with crap and download everything in site! Keep a tight rein on it to save speed of operation. I have Torque loaded on it and use the BAFX OBD2 unit since it has good advanced Prius PIDS inc individual batt cell values. Also have to mention that it comes with MANY OBD1 adapter plugs that earlier vehicles used. While I do not really need them, and the data is rather limited that can be extracted from early OBD1, it has the capability including cars from all over the world I haven't even heard of. And finally I must mention that I did need some support from the vendor. They were FANTASTIC! I had a problem with one of the connectors on an adapter cable. Explained the situation and eventually after a few e-mails between us, they graciously sent me a new cable quickly all the way from CHINA! Now I know people are leary of getting things from China. But let me tell you folks, their making some good stuff-- and in some ways even better that things from USA. Just Saying. Make sure when buying from AMAZON that you buy Launch brand scanners through CARDIAG TECH CO. Ltd. It is based in China and you must communicate via e-mail if you need assistance. Replies come back within 24 hrs. Be patient. They must have assistants who speak English because the e-mails are in good english. I dealt with a woman named Doris. Very pleasant and helpful. Did everything they promised including a new cable with tracking info and super fast shipping at their expense. Totally impressed. Remember CARDIAG---don't order it from anyone else. Have fun figuring out problems on you vehicle. Very satisfying when you get it fixed without replacing tons of expensive parts--- just the one that is broke!! Use your brain--not your inheritance!!!
