Ted Darling is back with his team and his husband Trev is supporting him as usual. I love the Ted and Trev series of books, it’s like sitting down with characters you’ve come to know so well. The author has depicted characters you can visualise in your minds eye, who you can hear speak, the character development is so well accomplished. The story picks up and progresses from the previous book in the series Dirty Old Town, but it can be read as a stand alone. Ted and Trev have gone to Wales on a short break to visit his mum Annie but as if so often the case Ted happens upon a possible crime involving his mum’s late friend and companion Aldwyth At the same time, and unbeknownst to Ted, a serious crime has been committed on his home ground of Stockport, a young lad has been killed and it’s all bound up with the drugs scene and some particularly nasty, unscrupulous drug dealers. When Ted gets back home he immediately becomes involved in this heinous crime. This is an extremely powerful story of drugs, the lengths those who sell them go to and also police corruption at the heart of the investigation. The book completely drags you in and keeps you hooked until the very end. I don’t want to give any more of the plot away, suffice to say if you haven’t read the series then do so you won’t know what you missed until you do.

Another really good read in this series. Lesley never disappoints in her well written and properly researched police procedural novels. Good characters that feel like old friends and totally believable stories. As usual , I was left bereft when I turned the page and saw " The End" .

Gripping story line, filing you with excitement and anticipation. Justice in the shape of Ted Darling is something that you really can't underestimate!

Ted Darling keeps on getting better and better. L M Krier has crafted another engaging tale in the life of Ted and the team. As usual, the depth of the story surrounding Ted's personal and professional life is perfectly balanced, you are drawn in from the start and the details are always finely balanced with enough insight into his everyday life , mixed with the current investigation. A must read series for anyone who enjoys well paced , engaging detective fiction.

Another great gripping read from LM Krier , fast paced thriller that kept me hooked all the way through, great characters and plots coming thick and fast and coming nicely together at the end, let's hope this isn't the end of the line and there are more to come in this series.

The best book from a very enjoyable series. It can stand alone, but why miss out on the previous stories. The characters are now old friends and the interaction believable. The plot is exciting and I have it on very good authority that the police actions are accurate. A 5 star read.

I've been reading these books since the beginning and feel like I know the people. Every new story is eagerly awaited and the plots get better and better.This one was particularly good and I found I couldn't out it down until the end.Thank you for this latest book even though I didn't get to bed until the early hours finishing it.

Another eagerly anticipated instalment in the career of DCI Ted Darling, which I read in and as I have come to expect, I have thoroughly enjoyed it. As usual Ted can’t get away from crime even when he is on holiday but this one is personal. Being away from home, he has to leave it to the local force to deal with but there is plenty brewing for him to get his teeth into back in Stockport. Whilst Ted and his team are dealing with an increasingly difficult and dangerous situation his home life remains calm and settled with his extremely patient and accommodating partner. It is a welcome change for a fictional police officer to have a stable home life. His partner has well grounded fears for his safety however and Ted gives him more cause to be anxious than he is aware of. Actually Ted gives everyone cause to worry because being more aware of his speed and abilities than anyone else, he takes risks they see as unnecessary. Everything about this book hangs together well even though there are strands to take into the next one. I’m now looking forward to that next book as soon as the author can manage it!

Fantastic character driven police procedural. Fast paced with interesting cases. It’s great to learn more about the characters on and off the job. There is an underlying goodness and integrity which is very appealing. Definitely a series to be read in order. Highly recommend.

Having been a long term fan of the DCI Ted Darling series, I pounced on this as soon as it appeared in my kindle. As I expected, I've barely been able to put it down. This latest in the series was another fantastic, gripping and intense race against time to catch the the worst of all criminals – gangland drug dealers. And the chase is not helped by the various spanners that keep throwing themselves into the works, including elusive undercover offices, bent coppers, and other numerous mishaps. Add to that a subplot including a crime committed against a member of Ted's family and the usual interplay between Ted and his husband, Trev, and you have a totally riveting novel. However, the great thing about this series is it's like going to meet old friends. I've read so many of these books I love all the characters in the team and it's always lovely to 'be with them' all again. Just one wish, though: if the author, LM Krier, decides to write another book in the series, could we please get to know a bit more about the real Virgil? I'd love to see a bit more development of this gentle, strong cop's character.

I love all this series. They can’t come out soon enough for me. I enjoy a book that makes you feel like you personally know the people in it. Filled with intrigue, humour and heart warming snippets. If you haven’t dipped your toes into any of this series, do yourself a favour and start today! Highly recommended.

If you have not discovered Ted yet, you are seriously missing out on a blinding good read. I would recommend starting from the beginning of the series as you may be a little lost with the back story in The End of the Line. This book ties up and closes some of the previous books themes and definitely was a page turner from start to finish. I couldn't out the book down and forfeited sleep and meal breaks just so I could continue to read and discover the outcome. No spoilers from me except for this is one you do not want to miss!!

Book 16 in the Ted Darling series did not disappoint. As usual, I just couldn’t put it down.Lots of twists and turns along the way, and it was a nice follow up ending to Book 15, that had so many unanswered questionsI always feel like I have been reacquainted with good friends over a coffee catchup.
