Full disclosure, I prefer the step by step build 3D models rather than 3D puzzles (this is the first one I've ever done) because I don't like the seam lines everywhere, but I had to take the plunge. Where else are you gonna find a scale model of Highclere Castle? And it's true to the real building, not to the show. For example the back of the castle with its red brick walls connects to the real service buildings and stables where the restaurant and the entrance to the Egypt exhibition are, but looks quite different the servants back door from Downton Abbey (which was shot in a studio and not at Highclere), in fact there isn't even a door here on the model. That's the one thing I could notice was quite different from the model to the show. It's not a difficult build if you ever done a big puzzle before. Sort the pieces by similar colors and try to match them up as best as you can, if you feel overwhelmed or can't find how they match put them away and move to another group (it's a foam puzzle, pieces will stay together by themselves, I just put the assembled pieces in the box and kept my categorized loose pieces in ziploc bags) eventually you'll see how they start matching up.I for example sorted them as roof, grassy base, walls with double windows/doors, walls with single windows, walls with niches, upper trim, and internal walls with pictures. It took me 2 afternoons to finish it (and it's my first 3d puzzle ever). If you feel stumped reference the color instructions on the Wrebbit site, the b&w instructions on the box are almost useless unless you're trying to know what the pieces you're missing are supposed to look like. All in all, good fun. I honestly wish it had taken me longer to build though, I had intended to build it over a few days while rewatching the series and only got to S2E2, so about 10 hours? The Notre Dame model from Cubicfun took me about a week even with step by step instructions, so this isn't really *that* difficult. The only time I got frustrated was doing the windows. You have no idea how many identical windows this thing has... oh and be careful, because the foam takes some finagling to snap together and the foam has some give, so it's actually possible to smush two similar pieces that are not a match and then you end up looking for a missing piece because you put something in the wrong place (happened to me a couple of times), double check that the image matches PERFECTLY, sometimes you'll see the lines are actually crooked and that's how you know you put the wrong pieces together. I plan on gluing the large flat areas so I can put it back into the box semi assembled or keep it as a statement piece without worry that it could be smashed to pieces or that any liquid or dirty hands could ruin the paper.
