This cream did wonders for my skin.
UPDATE: April 2021: Four years in and this cream is a staple. Sometimes I'll stop using it and shift to other creams only for my skin to slowly go back to its rough, flaky, red state. That's when I remember this cream and why I love it so much. I can't tell you if this will work for you, but I can tell you that nothing else helped me... not other sulfuric ointments, not salicylic acid, not super "clean" products formulated for super sensitive skin that cost way more than they should - nothing. This cream works for me. A single tube, even with daily use, lasts me easily six months or so, so it's an economical buy to try out. Whether it's this product or another, I hope you find something that works for your skin!! UPDATE: June 20th, 2019: This is still a must-have for me. It's the only thing that helps keep my skin free of scaly patches and all sorts of redness. At this point I just mix it into my moisturizer right before applying and it "melts" into my skin perfectly and without drying me out. Really fantastic product - literally the only thing I've found that works so well. UPDATE: April 16th, 2018: This cream is still working for me! I've been pairing it with a gentle salicylic acid scrub and an oil-free moisturizer, and the change in my skin is amazing. Mixing the cream with the moisturizer works just as well and seems to help me avoid some of the dry-skin issues that can crop up. I highly recommend it! -------- I purchased this cream on September 25, 2017, and have been using it ever since it arrived. It's been a fixed presence in my skincare routine for about four months, in other words, so I feel like I've used it long enough to leave an accurate review. I adore this stuff, to put it simply. My skin used to be very easy to take care of - acne wasn't an issue, I didn't need a lot of skincare products to keep it clear... it was just sort of naturally fine. Not amazing, mind you, but there were no significant issues until a few years ago. I don't know what happened, but my skin went crazy and has never really recovered. More specifically, I've been dealing with patches of flakey, scaley rashes/acne (it seems like both, to be honest), particularly across my forehead, above my eyebrows, down my nose, and around my mouth. This has been a nightmare for me. I've tried so many creams and lotions trying to find something that would calm my skin down. I even went off of all skincare products for several months to rule out an allergic reaction to something, but there was little change. So. I've spent a lot of time over the years trying to figure out what is wrong with my face. Finally I decided to try an option for seborrheic dermatitis. The symptoms and pictures fit, and I really didn't have anything to lose. To be quite frank, I didn't expect this to work at all. You guys, it worked so well. When you read reviews and people say that there was an "immediate" change, you roll your eyes, right? How dramatic - not to mention impossible, since your skin takes around a month to fully acclimate to a product... so even if something seems like it's a good option at first, it might end up being worse for your skin after a few weeks. I'm going to say the following even though I'm fully aware of the reaction these words would inspire within me: there was an almost immediate change in my skin when I began using this cream. And when I say "almost immediate", I mean that I used it at night, went to bed, and when I woke up the next day my face was significantly less red and less flakey and just looked healthier and clearer. I don't know exactly what it is in this cream that works for me - maybe the sulfur. It's been working for me consistently since the first night I used it, so whatever is in it works well for my skin. It doesn't turn my skin into a porcelain mask or anything - it's not flawless. But the difference between how it was before and how it is now is night and day. With all of that said, there are a few things you should be aware of when making the decision to purchase (or not) this cream. It does smell like sulfur. No one aside from me is able to smell it once it's on my face, and it's not overwhelmingly strong. I can smell it a bit even after it is on my face. Again, it's not an overwhelming scent and doesn't bother me. This cream does dry out my skin. To help combat this, I've been using a gentle facial scrub in the shower, using this cream when I get out, and then covering my face with an oil-free moisturizer for sensitive skin. This combination leaves my skin softer than I ever remember it being. That's it, to be honest - there aren't many downsides to this product for me. I'm still on the same tube I originally purchased - a tiny bit of this really does go a long way. As long as I stay up on moisturizing my face every day, my skin feels hydrated. If you're dealing with some of the same issues I described above, then I'd recommend trying this cream. It's not cost-prohibitive to do so, and it seems like it really does work wonders for at least some of us. I know it's not a well-known skincare brand and you might be wary of the integrity of the reviews, but it just works so well... give it a shot if you're so inclined.

Life Changing SebDerm Cream
I have been battling seborrheic dermatitis for as long as I can remember. I have always been amazed at how little progress there has been toward finding a real solution. Every treatment I tried only reduced the itching and burning for a short time. Nothing ever truly worked. As I have gotten older, my seb derm has only become worse. It has been on my face for the past 15 years. What used to be flare ups has turned into a constant, permanent flare with no relief. This cream is on another level. I received it yesterday, washed my face, and applied it to the affected areas. There was a slight burn at first, but the effect was immediate. My skin cleared up almost like a miracle. I still cannot believe that three ingredients I have used separately with little success, sulphur, salicylic acid, and hydrocortisone, could work so powerfully when combined. Yes, the smell is unpleasant. I will gladly take it over the itching, burning, scaling, and the emotional toll of feeling like I cannot hide my face. For the first time in years, I feel like myself again. A word of caution. This cream contains hydrocortisone, and it is important not to use topical hydrocortisone daily for more than two weeks. In general, long term or excessive use of topical hydrocortisone can lead to skin thinning, increased irritation, changes in skin color, and a higher risk of skin infections. These are the last things I need at my age, so I plan to use this carefully and sparingly. To keep my skin stable, I am going to balance this treatment with gentle face washes that contain salicylic acid and an oil free moisturizer for sensitive skin. I use La Roche Posay Toleriane, which is the only moisturizer my face tolerates. My hope is to slowly reduce how often I apply the cream and eventually keep it to once a week or so.

Changed my life.
I’m a bit angry. I have spent decades going to the dermatologist for my Seborrheic dermatitis. Basically, I have been bathing in hydrocortisone and ketoconazol. They helped but never really helped. So I started doing my own research to finally fix this myself. I ran across this bottle and was like “it must be gimmicky”. But since it said “Seborrheic dermatitis” on the bottle and it’s inexpensive, I’ll play Russian roulette and see what happens. This stuff fixed my skin on day 1. I took a loofa to get the flakes off(knowing it would turn me red) but I wanted my skin as empty as possible. Then applied the cream and within an hour my skin looked perfect. The redness from my rosacea was gone too. I can’t believe how something so simple can stop something so quickly. You still have to cleanse your skin well. But after you do, and then add the cream you’ll be in heaven. My skin usually starts to tighten up and feel like a shell. That’s when I know it’s about to push out all that crap. I haven’t had that feeling since I’ve started. I’m not saying it won’t come back because I haven’t used it long enough to say that. But I will say you need this in your arsonal of skin care. It’s freaking insane how well it works My doctor is going to get a mouthful when next I see him. How a dermatologist doesn’t know about this is simply ludicrous. Thank you for this product. It’s changed my life. Also, not sure why the photos are sideways. They just uploaded that way. Update: I posted this on June 20th, 2020 and Now it's 3/10/2021. So I feel like I can give an honest update and a thorough one. I was using the cream daily, twice a day actually, and it was heaven. Whenever I started to try and reduce my usage I could feel the junk accumulating under my skin and ready to push itself out. So I'd hurry and apply more cream and it would prevent it from happening. I know I am not a doctor so I'm going to describe everything on what I felt it was doing. It may not actually be doing what I'm saying but it FELT that way. Yes, it did burn around the eyes a little, where the skin was at its thinnest. But it felt like that burning sensation was actually killing the problem. Like a cleanser. So I dealt with that sensation, and it lasted about a minute, and then it was fine. What I did to combat that was bought a seborrheic dermatitis night cream. The front of the bottle just says Manuka Honey (in a square) and then Seborrheic Dermatitis Face Cream (on Amazon), It's all organic and it's perfect to apply to the eyes at night(it's a little thick), but it relieves that burning sensation. For added relief, keep it in the refrigerator and the coldness will also help in alleviating any minor burning sensation. As a face wash in the shower, I used DEFENSE anti-fungal soap and then Zinc therapy soap by DERMAHARMONY. After, adding the daily soaps, once in the morning and once in the evening, I realized that I could reduce the amount of cream I was using. The soaps seemed to be working as the maintenance that is keeping the seborrheic dermatitis away. I use the cream once or twice a week now. Unless I get lazy, and then a break-out occurs, then it's back to a solid 5 days of the cream to kill whatever is growing back. So, wash your face daily with the soaps(they each last me a few months since they're face only). Then apply the cream, and use the thicker cream previously mentioned if you feel like your eyes are irritated or dry. I rarely ever have an issue now. It was a daily struggle. This cream is an angel in my opinion. Thanks to whoever created this. It truly changed my mental health as well. As long as I follow the regimen I mentioned, I don't even have to worry about breakouts anymore. It's like I don't even have a problem at all. Anyone can feel free to reach out if they have any questions for me. I know just how horrible it can be and there's really no need to go through it anymore. This cream is everything. Please try it. I hate that anyone has to go through this horrible skin problem. Kerrychad IG .

Decent Could Be Better. A Quick Remedy
Used it for the 1st time and it does seem to help. The flakes haven’t come back as thick like they usually do the very next day of me scrubbing them out. The stuff does stink like Clinical Head and Shoulders which i also have to use unfortunately because i get the rash along my hair lines, behind ears and now for the first time, the corners of my eyebrows and i noticed it coming in around my cheeks where laugh lines appear. Once that started happening, i said uh uh something has to be done about this. Not having this stuff spreading to no where on my face! I believe this is just a flare up cuz usually my seb isn’t this bad. I read flare ups tend to happen during winter and with certain foods like dairy. It is winter and i do consume a lot of milk. Rest of the year i usually didn’t have to actively combat the rash. This is my 1st time having to do so. I never thought it would or could get this bad. This cream is helping out a lot but could be better. It does leave a film on the skin/hairline area drying out my hair. I didn’t feel any bad irritations. I will continue to use this cream during these flare ups and hopefully that’s all it is. I wouldn’t want to have to use this stuff everyday for the rest of my life. I hope i can break here and there due to the smell and the dryness of my hair. Usually i used ProActive because that also helps with Seb on the face really well. It contains the same medication salicylic acid that treats it. I have been out of it for about a year now. Buying more as i write this. Yes, i recommend trying this cream and i also recommend ProActive. It does help. 2 months update: My Seb Derm never came back in most of my places. Like, behind my ears and back hair line after using this only 3 times! I also just got a new shipment of Proactive yesterday so I’m back using that. So far so good! This is good for a quick remedy. The smell is the only reason I say it could be better.

Works FAST
Around Thanksgiving I developed what I believe was either perioral or seborrheic dermatitis. I had a few random, small red dry patches in my “T zone” and around my mouth. At first I thought it was just chapped lips, which I never get, then it progressed to a spot on the side of my nose, a spot between my eyes (yay), a tiny spot on my forehead and a spot on my eyelid. By the end of Christmas, after stopping my normal skin care routine and going very basic, it hadn’t improved so I started the internet search. This particular lotion had the combination of salicylic acid and hydrocortisone that I thought might help. While going through the reviews, one user said their case cleared up in three days…SOLD. Arrived right after New Years. Because I have pretty sensitive skin, I used this directly on the affected areas only (yes it burns a tiny bit for a few seconds) and around my mouth in the morning and at night (a little heavier at night). I saw visible results the next day, and after three days of use, it was pretty much gone. They weren’t lying. I still had some tightness around my mouth, but the redness and peeling ceased. Yes this cost a bit more, totally worth it. I paired it with Dr. Dan’s Cortibalm to keep my lips moisturized during the day. And just for the record, after treating the area, i moisturized the rest of my face with just plain ol’ Cetaphil. Call off the dogs….the hunt is over.

It does work on my seborrheic dermatitis, but that smell...
It works on the area of my face and a spot on my chest that gets itchy, red, dry, and then flaky. After daily application, within a few days things feel normal when the dry flaky skin falls off. If I stop using it for a few days it will start to get irritated again. Just apply and it provides that relief. Been using it for about 3 weeks now. However, there is one big issue I am having with using this product. I heard Hell is supposed to smell like sulfur. This item has sulfur in it. Whenever I have it applied on my skin, I feel like Satan ate a ton of rotten eggs and thought it would be funny if he farted on my face in the morning. And the fart is so thick that it lingers on my face the rest of the day. I'm glad no one else has to smell my face and that I have some tolerance to stinky smells or else I would be gagging all day at work. My coworkers might hear it and start gagging too. In addition to the smell, it does leave a weird dry unpleasant feeling around my nasal passage and throat. My saliva and taste in my mouth is slightly affected. I’m sure it’s from smelling the sulfur for a certain amount of time. Sitting here smelling this sulfur fart on my face as I type this makes me depressed as I willingly did this to myself. It seems like I unknowingly made a deal with Satan through Amazon to get relief on my seborrheic dermatitis. The catch was convincing me to apply his fart cream onto my face to get that relief. Don’t get me wrong. The product works. I highly encourage anyone who is suffering from the effects of seborrheic dermatitis and are looking for alternatives to try it. It does its job. However, after I am “finished” using this bottle, I am going back to just plain 1% hydrocortisone or getting a doctor prescribed one. I have determined that I don’t need the Sulfur and Salicylic Acid. Others may need it. This product is not the best for me. Long backstory on why I used this for those that care: I've had seborrheic dermatitis for over a decade now. The first doctor called it face dandruff. She prescribed Desonide for me. I used it and it worked great. I was never dedicated to daily application as instructed back then. I would apply when it starts flaring up (stress or weather). The bottle even expired, but still worked and it lasted a long time. After the second prescription I felt it was tedious to do a co-pay with a doctor for a simple skin cream. A chain store pharmacy consultant recommended that I try 1% hydrocortisone from the shelf. Viola, it worked. It did not feel as strong or lasted as long as Desonide. However, I didn't have to go through a doctor so the convenience is nice, it simply worked, and the store brand was fine. Recently, I heard that long term use of hydrocortisone was bad for the skin (unsure if this is true because it's the internet), I wanted to find out if there was an alternative. Here comes this product with extra stuff. Sulfur and Salicylic Acid in addition to the hydrocortisone. My thought process was that if this was more effective than just hydrocortisone by itself, it would last longer before I'd have to reapply. That way I wouldn't be putting so much hydrocortisone on my face in the long run. So far it seems like they are similarly effective with no indication that one does a better job than the other. So I would much rather prefer to use the plain 1% hydrocortisone. That’s from my personal experience and testing.

It worked for me! It WORKED!
Does it have a rather abrasive smell? Yes. DOES IT WORK? Oh my goodness…YES. I wish I had before and after pics. I knew what was in it, so I wasn’t surprised by the smell of it. What surprised me was that it worked. I have had SD for as long as I can remember. In my teen years and beyond it was primarily my scalp and I would get scaly patches behind my ears. As I got older, it moved to my face. I had no idea what it was until I was later in life, past my 50’s. I thought I had a sun sensitivity. I thought I had an allergy…I thought I had… Who knows what. All I knew was that I would get red down the sides of my nose, to the corners of my mouth and down my chin. It would burn. It would start to flake, it would spread. I tried creams, moisturizers, everything. Nothing worked permanently. I could ease it for a bit but it always came back. On my own, I started doing research and figured out what I had. I was horrified to learn there was no cure, nothing I could do except suffer in silence. Until now. This is NOT a “moisturizer” that’s why my rating is so low. I don’t know why that’s listed as something you rate, when that’s NOT what this is for. I rated the scent low…because yes, it has a strong, sulphuric smell. It’s not pleasant but it’s also not something I can’t work with. When I got it, I was in the middle of a vicious outbreak. I use “Simple” face wipes for sensitive skin to clean my face. I immediately cleaned my face and with just the tip of my finger, I put a tiny dab on my face and caught my breath because my skin was raw and it stung. I gritted my teeth and kept working, one tiny dab at a time. A very little of this goes a long way. For those complaining that it doesn’t “soak in” my question would be, how much are you using? If you glop it on like a moisturizer, yes, you’re going to have problems because it will look like you put on white clown makeup or zinc ointment. A tiny dab will do. Work with just the tip of your finger and gently wipe it on to the affected area. Dab it on and gently smooth it around. It will disappear into your skin. Keep working it in a little at a time. I can’t speak for anyone else but that first day I used it 3 times…and it stung. Each time, I cleaned my face and put it on again. Fortunately, I wasn’t working that day although I did the next day. The next day, I went through the routine and while my face was still very red, the flaking had stopped and the stinging was minimal. I told the kids I teach that I had medicine on my face to help with the problem I have and that it didn’t smell very nice. They all smiled and said it was okay, they hoped it helped my “sunburn”. (That’s what they call it. They know it’s a rash, but they always said it looked like I was sunburned). By the 3rd day, I could see improvement. The worst spots were still red but the “blistery” look I always had was gone. The other parts were fading. 4th day…all bright red, raw skin was healed, no flakes…redness on outer part was markedly faded. By the end of a week…totally gone. Totally. Skin looked normal. I looked in the mirror and cried. The kids I teach were all crowded around me telling me how nice I looked! They said the medicine smell didn’t bother them at all. That night I skipped the cream. Just cleaned my face. In the morning, no red splotches or flakes. I went through my day. No outbreak. That night, I cleaned my face before bed and used a tiny amount. In the morning I cleaned my face and had no smell and no SD. That’s been my routine ever since. I’ve been doing this for a month now. I go 1-2 days without using it…then AT NIGHT I use a tiny bit on the area by my nose where it always starts. Not one outbreak in a month. Okay…here’s a heads up. I use a My Pillow that can be washed and I did wash it to get the smell out since I’m a side sleeper and my face is on the pillow. You can buy a plastic pillow protector that zips on and I HIGHLY suggest you do that if you sleep with your face in the pillow. Put 2 pillow cases on your pillow, especially if you have a pillow that can’t be washed or needs to be dry cleaned. The plastic pillow protector can be wiped off with a damp cloth and you can use some soap if you need to, to get the smell off. If you double-case your pillow on top of that, you’re good. You can change the pillow cases as needed, even every night and toss the others in the wash. I could go 2-3 days and then I’d switch the inner case with the outer. It smelled faintly but I could go another couple of days. Toss those two in the wash…wipe down the pillow…start again. Being as how my pillow is washable and I generally washed it about once a month when I would wash the blankets…(I have a cat and a dog…the dog doesn’t sleep on the bed, but the cat does) my sheets and pillow cases usually get changed once a week, the blankets and bedspread would go a month. I’d toss my pillow into the wash along with everything else when I washed blankets. That’s the same schedule I keep now, if only because the “fill” of my pillow plumps up better after a wash. Anyway…protect your pillow if you sleep with your face in it. It works, it works, it works. I knew when I tried it that it MIGHT not work for me. Not everything works for everyone. I had read the reviews and knew it hadn’t worked for some people. I read the reviews carefully. I had also lived with this dreadful condition for years. I won’t go into the horrors I suffered over the years, because the story is the same as so many you can read here in the reviews. It’s miserable. Is this a miracle cure? It might not be for you. But it was for me. Thank you so much to the developers. That’s such a small word…but it’s all I can say. From the bottom of my heart…thank you.

Don’t lose hope
Specifically to men with beards. When I got seb derm on my face i wasn’t really sure that’s what it was. I break out when I get poison ivy similarly. I itched like crazy, so I thought that’s what I had. Used creams, but never went away. Thought the flaking was just dry skin because I stopped using beard oil. Bought Calvris extra strength, and it did a good job relieving the itching, but didn’t heal at all. I was frustrated, then I got this and wow, it worked. I used nizoral every 2-3 days and this stuff in the morning and evening on reddish dry looking areas. Using now for about 3 weeks and areas have healed. Amazing stuff.
