Bash-worthy. This servo with take it all.
The media could not be loaded. This servo makes magic happen with my TRX-4. This is the third servo that I've put in my TRX-4. I honestly trash my truck. I jump it, crank on the steering when in tight spots, I even drove it on the beach and into the ocean once. Basically a list of what you shouldn't do if you take care of your stuff. This servo takes it all. It's a tank of a servo that I expect to outlast every other component on my truck.

It does the job, but it whines loudly about it!
I bought this servo for an indoor robotics application, rather than for the RC automobiles that most people use these servos for. The torque is very good and it's faster than I need it to be, so it covers those bases perfectly. But any time the servo is powered and under any load - even if it's a mere 1 kg-cm - it sounds like the desperate Morse code operator on the Titanic trying to hail other ships before his sinks. It has a loud, continuous whine that is really more like a screech, and is at about the same pitch that Morse code is transmitted in. This happens when the servo is stationary (), and the whine seems to be lessened slightly when moving - though that could be an illusion because the sounds from other servos join in. My robotics projects have probably 30 servos among them, ranging from HiTec to Futaba to knockoff TowerPro to the brandless 20kg-cm servos, and when stationary this makes more noise than any of them. In fact, it probably makes more noise than all the others put together. This happens everywhere in the voltage range from 4.5 to 6V and when consuming roughly 0.05 to 0.15 amps, according to my power supply. The screech increases in pitch and slightly in volume when load and amperage increase. Also, the servo has almost no holding ability while unpowered. I don't need it to hold position without power, but it is very surprising that such a powerful servo gives so little resistance. I would have expected its higher gearing to resist more, but perhaps the gearbox is assembled very well and thus it has much lower friction. This trait doesn't affect me and thus doesn't affect my rating, but it's something that other users may need to be wary of - especially as you won't leave it powered, due to the noise.

Great Deal for the Performance
I have 3 of these and use Futaba 4pl radio, Axial Yeti which is a very tight fit and does require some trimming around the chassis, using stock ESC. This is a Thick servo and does raise the Height of the servo. Also have one in my Twin Hammers with a MMP ESC. I use a Castle BEC for extra power set at 6 volts. I use another on a scale crawler with a Tekin FXR and it works great. I normally run all Hitec which I am a big fan of because on the 10 plus years of use and great experience. Savox Warranty or Service will have you ship to China is the downside vers Hitec is in the USA. The few times I did require Hitec service it was little or no cost.

Incredible
This is a massive upgrade and well worth the money. Went from 2 cheap metal gear servos to just 1 of these after they fried. Installed on my E-Revo 2.0 with 0 problems. Also have a metal arm connecting to the steering as this is a lot of torque when using 1 and the stock plastic piece did not last.

High Torque Server for a low Price.
I use this servo to turn some big wheels and to take some big hits on my Axial SMT10. My stock servo stripped out with only a few runs after adding my big wheels. So far the 1230SG has held up to a beating and I hear they last a long time.Make sure that you use a BEC to get the full power out of this servo. I'm currently using a Castle Creations BEC now.

Does the job
Works well running as a single servo on e-revo 2.0 vxl brushless. Not incredibly powerful or fast, but enough so that I'm happy with it. Hasn't broken which is most important.

Good servo
So far the servo has worked flawlessly on my 1/8 scale rock crawler. My only complaint is that these are pretty noisy servos as others have mentioned but when you're out driving it you dont even notice the noise.
