Best Written Biography: Brilliant and sensitive portrait of John F. KennedyJr.
All week I had felt an unaccustomed sadness & restlessness, blaming it on the full moon above. Then I realized the date coming around. The 20th anniversary of the awful day John's plane went missing. Professor and friend, Steven Gillon, has gifted his readers with a book that transcends the usual biography. It is the rare book that touches the mind and heart, bringing the true character, spirit and humanity of John. F. Kennedy Jr. to life again as a vital, caring, man, who endured unbelievable public scrutiny with grace and humor; it nearly broke my heart to think of his love and devotion to his cousin Anthony Radziwill throughout their lives as near brothers to their mutual end of life.I am of the generation that remembers John as a little boy, though the salute seemed a pretentious gesture to me as a young woman. It is the man Professor Gillon salutes that is of importance to me. Yes, John could be vain. My own son, a lawyer, passed him on a Manhattan street a few days before the fatality. He said John crossed the street, back & forth several times, enjoying the reaction of passersby oohing & exclaiming about him. At one point, John stepped into a phone booth, combed his hair in a self-admiring gesture & re-crossed the street...my son was amused!I also know, professionally, how difficult it is for an ADD or ADHD person to maintain concentration and how hard it must have been for John to work so long and hard on trying to make sense and a success of George Magazine - or just being on time - being "present".Professor Gillon is a masterful writer and this is a most thoughtful, loving book one simply cannot put down. It then lingers in the heart and imagination.

Excellent read
Not pretentious or overbearing/ just right . George’s saga is amazingly described ' one can appreciate the true affection the author has for JFK Jr. .. yet it does not deter from the facts.
