Good product
Needed these sensors for a school project. Worked as expected and didn't need to calibrate them. Very happy with my purchase.

Good for detecting a water leak - bad for detecting soil moisture
I gave this a 5 star review, mostly because it does it's job. It works great if you are wanting it to detect a water leak. However if you want it to detect soil moisture, it will quickly corrode. There are some hacks to make it last longer by turning the power on/off so current isn't always running through it, but really for what you're paying, you cannot expect the same thing as a $100 moisture sensor. It makes a great DIY "hey look what I can do" project for not much money.

This is not for detecting water level in soil
I am taking a point off for the wrong indication, you do not want to put this into soil it will corrode. It would also need an AC circuit to make it not corrode which you would need to modify this circuit to support. It is much better as a leak or water detection device. This is what I am using it for, to detect water leaks, in my setup. The device will self destruct if you leave it in water for any length of time. It will plate out you can put some conformal coating on it to help it last a bit longer in water, in the end though it is not the right part for soil moisture detection as advertised. If you are looking for a soil moisture detector you are better off with a capacitive style sensor.

Honest Review
Good product, so far has held up against the application of use, easy to work with the Adriuno, accuracy is dependent upon programing and setup, once complete, it is great for its size.

Soil Moisture Sensor Review
Work well they appear to be accurate great for the value not sure about the durability but will let you know later and easy to use

Do Not Last Very Long
I bought these soil moisture sensors for a greenhouse project and at first I just left current going through them constantly reading the value, If that is your goal do not buy these for your project they corroded and lost accuracy after 1 week with constant current. I ended up switching my code to only run current through every set amount of time, usually once or twice a day and cut power to them after I got a reading. I ran through all 5 of these and had to switch them out for the Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensors which are more expensive and I only got a 2-pack but they are corrosion resistant and lasted a very long time and are just as accurate.

Reliable Soil Moisture Sensing: A Fun Experiment with HiLetgo LM393 Sensor and Pico W!
I purchased the HiLetgo 5pcs LM393 Soil Moisture Sensor for use with my Pico W, and it worked seamlessly. I hooked it up to a small LCD via the breadboard and received accurate moisture output. It was a fun experiment to undertake. However, my wife had different ideas when it came to testing the moisture levels of her plants—she preferred using her finger! Nonetheless, for anyone interested in DIY projects or exploring soil moisture sensing, this sensor is a reliable and affordable option.

Not so accurate
I wont lie, the signal was very unreliable and caused my auto plant waterer to go haywire in sending water. The obscure moisture values depended on minerals from the soil i realized but its durable, just not super accurate. Also very easy to attach to arduino/clone!
