I could not get this to work for me. I tried all the extra parts a previous review mentioned, but I think this was just a little too old for my computer

I bought 2 of these Topaz signature capture pads. They are robust and are well priced. I actually think that these would suit most simple signature capture requirements. The interface is cumbersome but not difficult, it has a PS/2 port to obtain 5V to power it, and has a RS232 serial interface. I used a simple low cost USB to PS/2 interface for power and a USB to/from RS232 for data interface, both from Amazon. However, documentation was skimpy to say the least, I needed to know the serial baud rate which was not provided, nor could I find this on the Topaz website for this particular serial model. I contacted the supplier asking for nothing other other than the baud rate, it was like pulling hens teeth but I eventually got it verbally. After a quick set up it was working. FYI:- the baud rate is 115,200 baud. The cost effectiveness and robustness deserves a high rating, the support and minimal documentation provided not quite so much. However, I still rate it 4 stars and would recommend this at the price, and with this info on how to use it.
