Pr-88 Hand Protectant, 3.5 Ounces | CLN-800.03

I first heard about pr88 years ago from a mechanic who swore by it. Now that I do regular maintenance on my own car, I bought some, and it really is amazing. I can handle all of my tools and components for oil and oil filter changes without sweaty or torn gloves getting in the way. I never worry about getting my hands dirty anymore. When I’m done, I wash my hands with water, and all of the grease and pr88 quickly come off together like a magic trick. My hands are left looking perfectly clean and smelling great!

This stuff is great for staying safe in cases where gloves would be too much of an impediment. When my husband works on the car for instance, he refuses to wear gloves because he wants to be able to handle small parts, and feel around in places he can't see. He used to come in with his hands so saturated in grease and grime that he'd stink for days after no matter how much he washed. Gross, but what's worse, what was it doing to his health to be absorbing that stuff through his skin? Then I recalled PR88 which was a staple back when I worked in a printing factory. It kept the ink and solvent off our skin. So I got it for at home now too. PR88 comes off instantly with even a hint of water so it isn't good for tasks where water is involved. But it is very handy for all other types of filth. A tiny bit of it is all you need. If you take too much, you'll have quite a wait until it dries. About a peanut's worth is enough. Don't forget to put it on your face, forearms, anywhere that may be exposed to the filth, not just your hands. I have used it on my face many times and it didn't cause breakouts. You don't want it in your eyes of course, so keep in mind that if you sweat, PR88 may dissolve and trickle down your forehead. In a sweaty situation it's likely best to just apply it facially from the eyes down.

If you deal with grease and oil on a regular basis, this stuff will change your life. Rub a dab into your hands in the morning and when lunch time rolls around, no pumice soap, no borax, no scrubbing, just some running water and your grimy hands are clean. I was tearing my hands up washing them with pumice soap several times a day. This stuff has saved me a lot of pain. Feels a bit greasy when you're rubbing it in but after a minute of two you won't even notice it. A simply fantastic product.

If you work on cars or other dirty jobs, this product is a great alternative to rubber gloves that generally tear halfway through your project. You apply it to your clean hands before you start. It makes it easy to wash off grease grime, adhesives, paint overspray and whatnot when you’re finished. Word of warning: you’ll still meed gloves if using strong chemicals.

interesting stuff. my first time trying it and it protected my hands from an oil i use at work that i've developed an allergy to. held up to me broaching a couple of holes and fondling sharp chips. it dries very quickly which means you need to be quick with application and scoop a little more than you might actually need out to get full coverage in one go. I was thinking of using it as backup under nitrile gloves, but because its water soluble it seems to just get slimy under the gloves rather than stay dry. definitely for someone who will be working with their hands all day and doesnt have to worry about cleaning off regularly to do clean or sterile operations.

This stuff is MAGIC! It even prevents glastic shards (fiberglass essentially) which is a game changer in my situation!

I used this stuff once years ago, Finally found it again. I love it. Easy to apply, lasts indefinitely/all day for work, and washes off super easy. If you hate getting sweaty hands from nitrile gloves, this is the stuff to get. At the end of the day, just rinsing under water gets all the dirt, oil, grease off your hands. Note that it will NOT protect your hands from solvents (brake cleaner, acetone, gas). It's not a perfect barrier.
