Need an update!
Fantastic read, although Dom could never have known that within three years of this book coming out, dance music would reach heights it could only have dreamed of previously.Back in the mid-noughties it must have looked to Dom that dance music was done, especially in the UK where guitar bands were all the rage and superclub attendance was through the floor. The US had other ideas though, and with the help of three Swedes, a French DJ/producer, a rising crop of Dutch DJs, and a former US lead singer of a metal band turning to dubstep production, dance music was reborn into a truly worldwide phenomenon.I think an update is needed to reflect EDM culture and the lives of worldwide superstar DJs in the digital age! Especially now EDM is in a similar stage to the UK scene in the early noughties with numbers at parties beginning to drop and DJs reaching burnout (Hardwell etc).

Ok but knocked stars off for having a go at Sasha.... delivery good by seller
Interesting review of 90's clubbing. I had respect for Dom Phillips as he wrote some good sleeve notes on global underground mixes and I believe he named the genre 'progressive house' - I loved progressive house and the global underground series. The problem I found was that at the end of the book he slates DJ Sasha for no apparent reason and this is a bit uncalled for. I give it 3* for this reason as it is a real negative end to the book as it's as if he is trying to end Sasha's career or something....

Superstar DJs
Great book, lots of interesting stuff. Definitely recommended for anyone who went clubbing in the early nineties onwards, read mixmag, and is interested in a recap.Reading this book reminded me of the exact issue of Mixmag where I realised it was going wrong - "DJs go fishing". Dave Seaman, Nick Warren and (probably) Sasha/Digweed. They went fishing and mixmag did a feature. Oh dear. How glad I am, that I was going to free parties instead of these superclubs.Highly recommended book though.

Arrived promptly. As it's a gift I've no idea about content, but it was requested by someone in the music business. So it must be good
