how do you get this to bake without tipping to one side since the pattern is uneven on the bottom where it rests while baking?

I have never had a problem with the pan tipping to one side. I sit the pan on a small cookie sheet before placing in the oven. I love this pan!!! Hope this is helpful.

Is this pan pfoa free?

Yes, it is Teflon free. Cast aluminum only.

Can you make regular boxed cakes in this pan?

I don’t see why not, but a regular cake mix is a thinner batter so I don’t know if you would get the same definition as a thicker batter “sweet type” bread recipe.
