I'm impressed. I have used cooling pillow cases before, and found them effective, but the cooling material have always been on just one side. These are 100% cooling material. The material is super smooth and silky feeling. It is great feeling against hair and skin (even better than my old polyester satin I was using before cooling pillowcases). The material is cool, and does not seem to get hot hot. The pillow cases are super stretchy with a small hidden zipper. They grab onto the pillow and dont loosen up. Makes my pillow look neat and clean, not sloppy from loose material. I can even have two pillows stacked and somehow despite being a smooth material, the pillows dont just slide off each other.The cooling aspect works by not trapping heat, not allowing heat to get to the pillow and hold it there. So yeh, the pillow case will feel warm eventually but if you have a fan, or AC, or flip the pillow, then it is is truly cool. Otherwise in my experience when I use a pillow without this, the pillow just gets hot, stays hot, and even with flipping it feels hot.. because the pillow itself has trapped the heat for remainder of night. Yuck.One thing to know and this is very important-- as I learned the hard way-- DO NOT DRY IN DRYER. DO NOT WASH IN HOT WATER. Heat will destroy the material ability to feel and stay cool. Do you want a regular heat trapping pillow case? Then go ahead and dry these in the dryer a few times and you will have a regular pillow case. HOw do I know? I bought these to replace another set (different brand, same idea, same instructions that I failed to remember). I always dried them in the dryer, and one night after having gloriously cool pillows, I noticed that my pillow was HOT night after night. It was then when looking for another set of pillow cases that I learned that they cant be exposed to heat like that. SO PLEASE, just AIR DRY.And so, after I got these and put them on my pillows, I had a much better nights rest. I remember thinking that I wasnt waking to rearrange my pillows. They were just comfortable all night long. Sure, I'd love an even colder pillow, but our room is on the warm side. But at least I wasnt noting the hot hot pillows anymore.

I really love these pillow cases. They are cool and soft to the skin! I do not feel my face getting hot anymore.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with other reviews that these cases do not stay cool. Wherever my head rests becomes warm within a minute or so. The rest of the pillow does remain cool so to enjoy the promised claim, you would have to move your head around all night long. I was hoping this would live up to the promise. I gave it 3 stars because the pillowcase is soft and comfortable, but I could get that with other pillowcases.

These Avolaar Pillow Cases Standard size are as pictured and described. Very smooth, stretchy, and extra-cool to touch without any bunching of material. Feels very comfortable for head use as a pillow case slip, without material creases against facial skin, much better then loose, warm cotton, and with a cotton protector underneath, as they are not a protector. Fits well on standard shape size 4in high memory foam pillows. Zipper end can stick out. Machine wash/dry like new, best in laundry bag. They have been used for 60 days and will be urable for years but can get pilly from rough skin or from elastic band sleep masks. They work and feel extra cool so well. Very expensive but reasonable 2-pac promo price. Would buy again in white color. Recommended.

This two pack of cooling pillow cases was a pleasant surprise. I am a hot sleeper and will constantly flip my pillow over, looking for the coolest part to rest my head. It makes sleeping a bit difficult when the heat keeps you awake. So that is why I wanted to give these pillow cases a try. And I am glad I did. Right off the bat, you feel the silky softness of the fabric. It is cool to the touch and stays like that. I love that these also have zippers! They are tucked away, so the zip part won’t catch on your hair. And they help your pillow keep a smooth, even surface. So no lumps or bumps to annoy you. As a menopausal mama, hot flashes will be around for a while, but I am happy to know these cases will make surviving them a lot easier.

At first they are very cool pillows to the touch. Soft, slippery, silky texture. Good stretch. The hidden zippers are nice (a main reason why I bought them as my other pillowcases would always slide off). It does get warm eventually, of course, so I just flip it to the other side and it's cool again. Other pillows on Amazon are NOT double-sided cooling material, but this one is - which is what I was looking for.Slight "cons" for me though. Upon opening, the pillows were nice and smooth (see image 1). After a first wash (in a mesh bag as recommended) in cold water, the pillows did have small thread tearing (see image 2) and also very minor pilling (see image 3). Nothing too concerning that I'd need to replace, but I just wanted to mention it. The description does say it "does not pill", but it did for me very slightly and it looks like my pillowcases obtained some thread "scars". Still a very good pillowcase!
