Perfect for the faceboards
The rear gutters were deemed not necessary by our roofer, and were taken down. The face boards underneath needed the holes patched to prevent wasps from getting in. This putty is thick, fills holes well, and dries fast. As soon as the rain lets up, ready to repaint!

Good value
This worked great. I had a large area that was damaged and I was able to mix my stain with this wood filler and it made it easy to complete my project

Spreads easily. No lumps or fillers.
I used this to repair an exterior wall plate used to mount a landscape transformer. Over the years the plywood plate was showing splits and some delamination due to weather. I used a sharp chisel to remove raised splits and some delaminated veneer then used two thin coats of this wood filler sanded flat after each application. This filler was easy to work with and sand. A coat of primer and two finish coats of paint completed the job. Overall I felt this DAP interior/exterior wood filler was an excellent choice.

Buy it, you'll love it!!
Perfect item to have in your toolbox if you're a wood worker. Easy to use, doesn't harden, the thickness is spot on for smaller jobs. If in doubt, buy it, you won't be sorry. 2 thumbs up!!

Easy sanding
This product is super easy to sand. It does a great job filling blemishes. Not as durable as wood so I would not recommend it be used on wood that will have a great deal of surface contact as I suspect it could dent easier than the wood. All in all, I liked the product and recommend it.

Turn red oak into a flat surface
I've used up three or four of these tubs over the last two years while refinishing my house. The product is now my go-to product for grain filling. I've tried many wood fillers and dIY drywall mud with wood glue mixes, and this DAP product consistently gave me the best results. It sometimes needs a little help with a water squirt on dry sanded wood surfaces to help with the spreading, but once you master that is usually gets the jb done in one application. Just overfill the grain a little bit to allow for shrinkage. It sands very well. I've moved from 220 to 320, and now 400 grit to get the surfaces even. Rougher grit will sometimes remove filler from the grain and force a second application to get best results. It primes well with BIN shellac primer and has held up in cabinet doors and on trim pieces very well. Not the cheapest product, but also not the most expensive. If you need a grain filler that is transparent, there are other options, but for painting wood after grain filling, this has worked very well for me.

Seems ok but not a miracle product.
I have just used it for the first time to fill some damaged wood on a doorsill from termites. It didn’t go on as smoothly as I hoped it would and didn’t adhere as well as I hoped it would. So it was tricky to apply. I ended up having to do two coats and really probably need a third coat. I haven’t sent it yet so I don’t know exactly how well it will sand or how smooth it will be in the end, I’m sure it will be fine.
