Winco Aluminum Stir Fry Pan, 11-Inch,Silver

It's perfect for creating creamed pasta dishes like carbonara or cacio pepe. It's a bit heavy but the thickness of the aluminum material is about 5mm or 1/8in that is great for heat retention at the low temperatures needed for the creaming process. The size is big enough to make large portions. If you can't buy an Italian pan, buy this one.

A couple shallow gouges in the metal, near the rim, when I received it (as expected from other people's reviews), doesn't affect performance. Otherwise this is an A+ pan. The pan is heavy duty, built like a tank, with bombproof rivets and handle. The (silicone?) handle cover is very tight, robust and good quality. Thick pan, it's not lightweight but I like that about it. Glad I bought it... first thing I cooked was cacio e pepe, it was the best one I've made yet. Also, excellent value for $50.

This is more of a wok size. Bit bigger than I expected, and the sides are high. It holds a lot of food. The pan distributes the heat evenly and is great for cooking over gas. I’m using it for Indian dishes that need ‘caramelization’ round the edges and it works well. CON: it is heavy. But that probably means it will last well. PROS: heat distribution, high sides, silicone handle.

I was skeptical when this arrived and it was larger than I expected, but it has performed very well. It’s a very precise tool for a very precise task, but it’s proving versatile as well! Good value, and a great addition to my pan rail.

Product feature reads that it is dishwasher safe, but the technical information says it is not. I found out that it is not dishwasher safe after running it in the dishwasher once. I asked for a replacement, but the replacement came with grooved dents inside the pan, which I also returned. Not buying again. Other wise, good decent pan for tossing pasta, cools quickly (good for carbonara), but it is aluminum and can be heavier than your ordinary wok.

I saw this pan being used in a video on YouTube to deep fry and it interested me enough I bought one. Have to admit, I use it for everything - stir fry, soup, one-pot meals, boiling spuds and eggs, deep frying. I don't even put it in the cupboard. I leave it on top of the stove because it is now my go-to pan for everything. And nothing sticks to it. Clean up is a breeze. I see some complaints on how it gets marked up, but that just goes with using aluminum cookware like this and the superficial marks don't affect how it works. If you want something that always looks brand new, don't get aluminum cookware.

Not the first time I've been snookered by a "Serious Eats" recommendation. They also got me on the Bartelli can opener - which is a piece of crap. The Winco aluminum stir fry pan is just that - raw aluminum - very reactive and very hard to clean - takes scrubbing with Barkeeper's Friend and a green Scotchbrite pad EVERY damned time I use it.

Works well for finishing pasta

Great heavy pan. Just used it for making carbonara. The shape makes it perfect for tossing the pasta & emolisfying. It arrived with a few minor scratches on the top lip by the handle. Doesn't effect use. Also all 3 of the rivets weren't fully knocked in. Still very sturdy just a bit naff. Would still recommend.

Came with medium chips and scratches all around the rim of the pan, overall still effective, but would've been nice if there wasn't sharp bits around the edge due to the damage/defects

Product at the beginning looks amazing but after two or three stir fried, food will stick to the bottom and it is definitely not a real stir pan. Avoid if you dont want to lose your money.

Very sturdy pan in its own right, and excellent for the price. I was reminded how much I hate cleaning around rivets, but that's not a failing, just a design choice. Note that the silicone handle does not come off - or at least it's not designed to be removable. It is tolerant of high heat, though, so I don't mind.
