Good value.

Okay
It’s good but it would have been better to group chords differently and have better songs to learn.

Great Resource!
This book is very easy to understand but also very thorough. Would definitely recommend!

Fabulous!
Every dummies book I've ever bought has been great. I'm an adult with zero musical ability, and this got me going better than in person lessons did!

Good book, missing online files.
The writing style is condescnding and childish in places, not clear who the target audience is! Another Guitar book that does not have working links to the 'online files'. This one promises audio downloads of 98 tracks, the link is broken and so far the publisher has not fixed it. The links to video's do work, however.

A Necessity.
As a teacher of music (Guitar, Bass, Percussion) I found this book to be quite useful with helping to form ways to reach new students to the guitar with initial vital information. With a hectic schedule I can quickly go over items and comparatively develop another angle to help the student acquire knowledge and skill in the learning process. Definitely useful in my opinion.

An excellent primer for many styles of playing that certainly starts with the basics but continues to quite a high level. My only real criticism is the use of "simply" et al - if a procedure is simple it will be self-evident, if not, the term will annoy. Apart from that, easy reading and excellent instruction.

It helps learn a bit of everything and every style without delving too much into details, great "cover all" type of book, sadly enough most songs they use as examples are american/british so you can't really relate to most of their example if you're not familiar with these cultures. Still a great book if you want to start guitar and it can also teach you about what to look for when buying one, the gear,...
