This book changed my life!!!
I can't believe I stumbled across this book. I had on Good Day NY playing in the background and I happen to hear about this book. It was something I was interested in so I bought the boom. I had it for maybe a year before reading it. This book changed my view on resumes, cover letters and the interview process. I have been doing it wrong all of these years. I feel confident that I will have successful interviews after reading this book. I have some interviews that still haunts me when I think about them. Purchase this book.

Practical, Actionable and FUN
The straight-forward, clear advice in this book is a refreshing change from the vague tips that leave most job seekers alone with their questions and self-doubt. Dalton shares practical insight from many years of guiding MBA students at Duke to landing job offers, some of which readers may find surprising. (Hint: your resume isn't as important as you think.) The humorous, conversational tone makes this book a great companion to your job search. It's like having a pep talk in your pocket! Highly recommend.

A must have for careerists!
I highly recommend The Job Closer to any careerist; those in school and those making their way through the corporate world. This book gives practical, actionable advice. Not tricks and hacks. These are tested tactics that will stand the test of time. There is no quick fix to finding a career job, but there are better and worse ways to conduct your search and yourself in the process. This book addresses both, providing clarity, focus, and expectations to an ambiguous process. One example includes the section dedicated to answering the prompt: tell me about yourself. Dalton lays out a step-by-step process to reliably produce answers that speak to one's strengths, answer the question behind the question, and avoid low-competence triggers including over-scripting.This book is for anyone wondering how they can maximize their opportunities to work with the best employers. It's for those who want to polish and perfect one of the most critical skills in today's job market: finding and landing jobs reliably.

Buy this Book and DON’T put the Coffee Down
During one of life’s most stressful periods, jobseekers face the dilemma of what task to tackle first and how much effort to spend on resume, Linkedin profile, networking, applications, and interview preparation. Friends and well-wishers offer vague tips like ‘sell yourself’ or ‘put yourself out there’ and the internet is loaded with pricy career coaches with opposing views on the perfect resume. In his first book, the 2-Hour Job Search, Steve Dalton details his efficient system to land interviews in the modern job market. Now we have the perfect companion piece, and the other half of the job search puzzle. Released this month, Dalton’s new book is called the Job Closer. Picking up where 2HJS left off, it covers topics from resume and cover letter writing, to interviewing, follow-up, and negotiating offers. The specific, time-saving instructions will help make the most of your time and maximize the odds of landing the perfect opportunity.

Awesome, easy-to-implement instructions
I advise MBA applicants for a living and have been recommending Steve Dalton's first book, The 2-Hour Job Search, to clients and prospects for years. The Job Closer is also full of extremely practical advice that anticipates almost every situation someone searching for a position may find themselves in. I definitely will incorporate Steve's recommendations when coaching clients on how to prepare for job interviews.

Highly recommended for getting ahead in the jobs market!
I purchased this book after reading Steve’s previous book ‘The Two-Hour Job Search’. I love Steve’s understanding of the human mind as he helps the reader see things through the lens of the employer. He dispels many myths about job hunting, particularly the fixation many people have with the ‘perfect CV’.This is a short book with lots of information. Each chapter offers tips and strategies packed into an easy to read ‘question & answer’ format. This will be a useful book for anyone looking to get ahead in the applications process. Particularly those who are stuck and looking to try something different. Many of my clients have this issue, and are looking for simple answers to complex questions. Steve’s approach is methodical, which means it provides the reader with fixed steps they can apply to their job search straight away. Highly recommended for job seekers!

Così così
Le idee sono buone, ma nel complesso il libro non è così rilevante da lasciare il segno. Common sense e un po’ di esperienza apportano più valore. Meglio il primo libro the 2 hours job search
