I combined this with a Roku Premiere+ Streaming Media Player Roku Premiere+ Streaming Media Player  to get first class streaming media into a system that only had RCA plugs for input. Since the TV part of the system was actually HD, we have a great picture (probably a little less than a straight HDMI connection, but better than SD). Highly recommended.

Does not work. Switched one way & all it shows are multicolored bars down the screen, switch the other way, same thing but in black & white. Cannot get it to work whatsoever. Directions are no help. No troubleshooting or number to call for assistance.

iT DID EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED IT TO DO.

I have a 10" Digital TV that doesn't have HDMI. I always wanted to connect my chromecast and Roku to it because the size is perfect for kitchen and vacation. Now I can with this little device. The input is 5v BUT be sure to connect it to a 2A USB adapter. Initially I connected to my computer USB which should be about 1A and the picture was back and white but when I connected it to 5v 2A I got color picture and with a great quality. You have the option of choosing between PAL and NTSC. My TV accepted both so it didn't make any difference for me. I like that this converter is USB powered and comes in a compact sleek no frills design. It is simple to use and can be stored in any organizer and transported in your pocket. The converter is also light weight. The weight is important to me because, I am use to things falling behind the TV or desk, yanking the cords and all that is connected down with them. I am not worried about this pulling on the HDMI or USB and my computer falling to the floor. That is another thing I love about this converter. I do not need an additional power source, it plugs into my computer next to my HDMI port.I ordered this not only because I have at thing for converters, cords, adapters and such. I have been begging my husband to get rid of that huge TV. It stares at us every night. He wants to keep it for his game systems. The TV has 6 different inputs and none work with our current laptops. So I was always taking out my 10 year old laptop to stream video, and connect to the TV. No one wanted to lug out that big laptop just to watch a movie. So in reality we were using our laptops and sharing the screen to watch our family shows.I did notice the slightest difference in video quality. With TV using a S Video cord connected from the old computer to the TV, I was a able to use the TV as a larger monitor to view the web as a family, the text was legible but not as high of quality as on the computer screen. Using the HDMI to AV 3RCA I did have a hard time reading text from the internet tabs, yet the video was clear enough to read all the closing credits on our movies. This is a better quality picture than I was expected, AV 3RCA is very old technology and not capable of the high quality picture we expect today. This is as good as it gets in my book.I received this product at a discounted price or free in exchange for a review. I bought this HDMI to AV convertor to try and use my Chromecast on my old CRT TV in my shop. I had already bought a different brand convertor and it worked, but the image was black and white and pulsating some color. My old tv didn't have RCA connectors on it so I had to go through a VCR that did have them. This convertor also gave me a black and white image only with this tv/vcr combo. I was able to fix the problem by using a different VCR. So now I'm using this convertor on another TV that is in my bedroom and it works fine. I can use the Chromecast to stream movies and TV shows through my old CRT TV!I would recommend this convertor to anyone looking to hook up their Chromecast on an old TV. Worked for me!
