AW ACTIVEWRAP Hot & Cold Ice Packs - Reusable, Flexible, Leak Proof Design for Shoulder, Back, Knee Wraps - Large 7"x 10"

I have neck problems and I use these packs to ice my neck as I'm going to sleep to dull the pain. The sleeve to put the packs in is very well made and keeps it from being too cold. The only thing I would say is that these bags seems to take in air as they ballooned up to 3 times their original size and I had to make a tiny needle hole to let air out and get the ice on my neck. Other than that, I love these.

...and I can't believe I'm saying that. I've always stood by the blue gel ice packs for migraines and sprains etc... But these are actually better. The gel stays in place and doesn't move to one side or the other... That's hard to explain but they mention it in the ad I think. And it definitely gets as cold or colder than the blue gel. And the sheaths they come with are nice too. And they even come in a nice carry bag too. But ya... Ice packs are wicked. I love them.

they are very thin and do not stay cold very long... but do love the package and cover it comes with.

My husband was given an Active Wrap with 2 cold packs post surgery for knee replacement. They stay cold for 4-6 hrs and work great! So I looked up and ordered the same brand expecting the same quality, so we can switch them out. The only difference I noticed is that these were black in color and others were blue/white. I thought maybe because it came with hospital name on the outer wrap.Once we received these, first thing I noticed is that they were much thinner (about half as thick), but thought maybe once they were frozen, they would have some sort of a reaction that would cause them to be thicker...NOT so! Then tried them to see how they worked. First off they never really froze all the way, they were very flexible and cold, but definitely frozen gel packs, so continued to leave in freezer switching and refreezing the others and these still never froze all the way. Well they outside does state they stay flexible, but this flexible? So after they were in there about 16 hours and still no change they were very flexible and cold, I thought I would try them...but how long would they last?Oh first, another thing...with the hospital ones, you have to put some material between your skin and the packs because they are so cold, you don't want to freeze skin, but with these, you need nothing between these and skin, because they are NEVER as cold as the others, and they only stayed cold about an hour at most.I wouldn't have known what to expect, but having the same brand from the hospital, I would expect the same performance from these, and comparing the two, if you are purchasing these because you want the same as what you may have been given post surgery, these will be very disappointing!SO, THE NEXT ISSUE...I went to return through Amazon, and they state they are NOT eligible for return 2 days after receiving them! I checked the return policy and no where do they state this in their listing. As a matter of fact, their policy when you click on seller profile says refer to Amazons return policy, which says most items are eligible for return for 30 days. So, I called Amazon and they gladly without any issue, they issued me a full refund and I don't need to return them. So, if you do decide to purchase and are not happy with their performance, don't give up when they say you can't return...call Amazon!

I bought these - as additions to the ActiveWrap shoulder recovery system brace - during Physical Therapy for my shoulder and they work very well both with heat and with cold.I am now preparing for shoulder replacement surgery (ouch!) and am anticipating using this brace and these hot & cold ice packs after my surgery.As these hot & cold ice packs are specifically made for the ActiveWrap shoulder recovery system, they fit perfectly and they maintain their temperature(s) very well.
