I figured I’d write a review to help others like how it helped me. I have HSV2 and I knew I had an outbreak coming because I’m very familiar with the symptoms. I don’t have medical insurance since I just moved to where I’m at now so this stuff REAAALLY helped me to make it go faster. You have to follow the directions it says on the bottle for it to work. Mine started fading away the day I started to take it. Take the time to read the instructions if you want it to work. Only cons I have about it is the TASTE. It tasted very earthy like oregano and you have to down it with something because you will taste it in your breathe and when you burp. (Yuck!) but besides that, it’s a good product. It’s good to have in your shelf to tackle your next outbreak! It really does shorten the period of outbreaks and heals it faster. TLC tip: spray bactine in a q-tip and put it in your affected areas, let it dry and put neosporin on it. I swear to god it’s a miracle worker! I had my outbreak done in a week or less. Thank me later 😉

So excited to say I found something that really works to drastically shorten the time of the cold sore outbreaks I get on my lips which look awful, are painful, and seem to drag on forever. (I’ve never gotten prescription medication so not sure how this compares to that). My cold sores typically take about 10 days to completely heal with just using Abreva and tons of lysine. I purchased H Rescue about five months ago in the midst of an outbreak so I didn’t notice a huge difference in healing time. Was eager to see how it would help the next time taking right at the start of that “tingle.” Now, five months later, with a severe weather change, stress, and too much sugar I noticed that tingle and a small bump on my lip on a Friday and started taking 2 capsules every 4 hours faithfully minus nighttime. It is now the following Monday and this Cold sore is almost gone. It also never grew to the size it normally would have. I hardly leave reviews but to help others who may deal with these type of outbreaks I was eager to share. Give this stuff a try! If you’re concerned about taste— It’s not bad at all, just earthy like oregano. Considering how helpful this supplement is I would taste a whole lot worse to help alleviate pain and shorten outbreak time. Wonderful product!! I’m going to start taking a pill daily to hopefully avoid any outbreaks in the future.

Update: 06/07/2025: Although they made more stable capsules to hold the powder, i received a bottle with brown spots on the edges of the capsules. The quality needs more attention. I been using this for about 4 years and this is the most effective, even more than what was prescribed to me. Swallowing is not bad, i don’t notice any side effects, that i am aware of.. The recurring problem is that each of the bottles that i have been ordering have 90% of the capsules broken. I open a brand new bottle with all of the powder spilled out. Poor quality Please fix this issue 2/5

I probably had the worst HV2 outbreak that refused to go away that I have ever had. I purchased the product before, but I always used it at the first sign of symptoms. It seemed to have also decreased the frequency of outbreaks. I would have taken this earlier, but I lost my bottles during our move and I originally couldn’t find it online because I forgot the name on the bottle. Frustrated by how long it was taking for this outbreak to clear up, i ordered the wrong product with a similar name and a similar label. I tried it anyway and there was no affect. Finally I did a different search and found this product again. I received within 48 hours of ordering it and during that time my symptoms got worse not better. I can honestly say right after taking this product within hours the symptoms were starting to go away, and within 48 hours, they are almost completely gone, unbelievable.. This was a real test of how effective this product is and I have to say I am impressed, thoroughly impressed. Over the years, I’ve taken supplements and the well-known prescriptions and never felt that they were significantly effective. I am now thoroughly convinced this is the best product on the market and I would encourage anyone to give this product a try especially if you’re frustrated frustrated with everything else you may have tried.

I don't normally write reviews but I find myself scouring the internet for a product that will get rid of cold sores fastest when I have one. I'm one that believes in Lysine supplements but do still get cold sores when taking 1,000 mg of preventative lysine daily. I've tried home remedies and they only seemed to relieve the slight pain and slightly reduce the size. I've tried Abreva but that seemed to leave a small mark on my lip for a couple months after the cold sore went away. I really liked the one dose Orajel but since you are suppose to press hard onto your skin, the last time I used it, I ended up turning 1 cold sore into 5 around my mouth. 1 cold sore, I can stand for a week or so but 5 is a trip to the doctor for me. I was given prescription medication that worked wonders. I really would prefer that medication over anything but each time I want a refill is another trip to the doctor, which I don't have time for. So, when I ran out of the prescription, I decided to buy this since it had great reviews. I just recently had a cold sore. I find that it's not really shortening time (I'm still on the final stage) but it is making it less noticeable. Generally I have a ton of swelling, but this was just one simple, small blister with slight redness around it. I started taking these the moment I woke up with a tingling sensation. So, that may have helped. So, it gets 4 stars in my book.
