Chemical Guys DIRTTRAP02 Cyclone Dirt Trap Review I recently bought a couple of the Chemical Guys DIRTTRAP02 Cyclone Dirt Traps along with their buckets, and they’ve been a great addition to my car wash routine. The traps are designed to keep dirt and debris at the bottom of the bucket, and they do their job well. This helps prevent any grime from getting back onto my wash mitt, which is important for avoiding scratches on the paint. The design is simple but effective. It fits securely at the bottom of the bucket and does a good job of keeping the wash water cleaner for longer. Does a great job separating the dirt and debri when washing car. I use the 2 bucket wash with Chemical Guys hand mitt and it's crazy when I lift up screen and see all the stuff under it that before I was just letting my sponge or mitt sit in. I use home depot Homer bucket and it fits snuggly on the bottom. I wasn't about to pay $10-$15 on a named brand wash bucket and glad I took the chance on the 5 gallon $3 bucket at Home Depot cause it works just the same. When done I dump water put and usually just tap it not hard at all on bottom and screen pops right out . Was worried with little bit with how small the waffle cone shapped holes looked and how low it was gonna sit in the bucket but I was really amazed when I looked down in bucket and water looked clean and when I lifted up screen first time how much nasty sandy looking water was underneath screen. When dipping hand with mitt on I would rub my hand flat across the screen when getting more soapy water.

After reading the other reviews, consider the complaints of others. Filter doesn't fit normal 5 gal bucket. Try the 5 gal Home Depot transparent mixing bucket from the paint department for $6. The filter disk is not supposed to sit on the bottom unless you wish to limit the dirt to the bottom 2 inches of the bucket. It fits perfectly in the bucket I ref. I found a pro tip to use a zip tie to aid in removal. I used the 2 short center opposing holes, as it's easy to pull from there. When I used the dirt traps the first time, I was amazed that the water under the trap was noticeably black dirty in the transparent bucket. In addition, the wash water bucket grid was filthy underneath, I used a wheel brush with a tiny bit of soap to clean after use. As far as the whole size, mine were fine, not sure if some batches were different, but mine are consistent. Finally, I picked up "Fasmov 3 Pcs Plant Pallet Caddy" from Amazon to put the buckets on to roll around my washing area. They are made very sturdy, wheels are not perfect, but they are a fraction of the price for the bucket dollies.

These do exactly what they say. They trap the dirt at the bottom of the bucket enabling you to be confident that when you wash your car it wont get scratched.

Definitely a good item to have if you are doing a 2 bucket method wash. It will trap all the dirt particles and avoid scratches when washing your vehicle.
